This is a question to blackmen who call each other NIGGAS/NIGGA (brothers are not included in this)

How do you feel when someone calls you a Nigga?

And if you are offended, why is it do you find it perfectly normal to be labelled a NIGGA by a black person and not from a non-black

Should we conclude that there is so much SELF HATE among those who call themselves NIGGAS or what?

If my peeps come up to me, and say, "what up my nigga?" I'm not gonna get offended because I know what's up.

Outside of that, i've never been called one in another way.

Why do you idiots pretend not to know that there is an overriding in-group bias that applies to, and privileges, black people, particularly African-Americans whose ancestors were victims of the Maafa, that doesn't apply to anyone else? Another African-American man calling me nigga is no more offensive to me than if he called me dude. :hmm:

Most people will not be 100% honest in answering that question. Ask them how they feel when Michael Richards calls them one. Or Mel Gibson.

9 times out of 10 when you or someone else use the word "Nigga" its not talking about or addressing anything positive.

"that nigga..."

"this nigga..."

"My nigga..."

"Those nigga's..."

:rolleyes:All start out negetive(nigga)and usually end with something negetive(story, news, general negetive bullshit).

I won't get upset....but I hate that word...I don't use it...I rather cats not use it....

Richard Pryor originally well known for his frequent use of raw language, and racial epithets publicly swore he would never use the word ‘******’ in his stand-up comedy routine after having visited Africa and witnessed first hand the injustices of apartheid. As Richard Pryor told it to an audience years ago, he was in Africa sitting in a hotel lobby when he heard a voice speak to him;

“What do you see? Look around." And I looked around, and I looked around, and I saw people of all colors and shapes, and the voice said, "You see any ********?" I said, "No" It said, "You know why? 'Cause there aren't any."

Thanks bro, and the saddest thing is , Its constant derogatory usage in popular music, literature, films and media programmes prevents this racial epithet from fading into linguistic obscurity. Indeed some irresponsible people and organisations are pro-actively involved in attempts to make its usage fashionable, marketable, even social and cultural acceptable primarily for financial gain.

stay tuned to see how much black people hate themselves by trying to defend the usage of this word.

I wonder if they would call their children NIGGAS...

I think continuing propagation of the N Word reduces human dignity by its denigration of African identity, heritage and culture. There is no other word in the English language with such a malevolent and odious etymological root

I might be wrong but i think anyone who feels its ok to be called a NIGGA has some some self hate issues

nobody calls me that. not to my face at least :dunno: Now how I feel when I see/hear black folks call eachother that is another story

probably going to get flamed like a mother fucker but...

one day when i was a kid playing basketball down the street and the ball went to this yard across from where we were. so i ran up to get it and this old white lady from inside the house yelled "get out of my yard n____."
fucked my head up:smh:
that was one of the first times i remember hearing it like that and was like

Most of them do :smh: and the cycle continues. then we wonder why our kids got messed up self esteem and don't feel they are equal to or better than others :dunno: oh well. Not my children.

Black people spend to much time trying to eradicate things that will do nothing for them in the future.

Stop using the N WORD will not solve CRIME, POVERTY, or will it destroy the other elements that is deteriorating the Black community.

me and my homey were outlast weekend....came out of the club. started talking to some drunk white guys with giants gear on who had gone to the game. we were complaining about some shit, me and one of them were deep in it chopping it up and he was like "thats what i'm sayin nigga" like in the flow of the conversation. I mean....I don't tolerate being called that by white people but the guy was drunk and meant no harm. he said it the same way a brother would say it and its just some shit that rolls of teh tongue if you listen to hip hop I guess...so end of day fuck it. i'm not gonna tolerate it on the regular from non-blacks but it didn't really stir any emotion or anything in me.

so you do not see the connection between how we view/degrade ourselves and our current state in the U.S.? our collective position around the world? come on now. It's not just about the word "******/nigga". it's bigger than that, but that is part of it too.

we are still slaves,,, that's why it doesn't bother many of us,,, i don't use the word at all
this should have ended the thread imo

10:1 you and your "homie" were tossing the word around before he slapped you two in the mouth with it

on a side note ... since when did "drunken" words mean LESS then sober ones? back in the day we used to say that alcohol made people speak their true minds... fwiw a drunk "white" guy using the word is imo worse than a sober one :smh:

No followup .... don't you see hip hop, black movies, stand up etc have many "black" people thinking that it is cool to degrade themselves, destroy their bodies, leave their minds undeveloped, and it's better to look like they have money than to actually have money???

The media is GOD

I dunno I mean okay if I beat his ass whats it gonna prove. he didn't use it in anger he used it the same way a black guy would, he was agreeing with some shit I said. honestly I mean how can you expect people not to use it when every rap song we listen to it says it. its insane. I mean I've gotten into fights and kicked ass back in the day when a white guy would call me that to my face. maybe if that scenario happened again it would be on. but a drunk guy who is agreeing with me and lets it slip in the same context as we use it? I dunno. maybe I should have checked him but it just didn't piss me off :dunno:

Cause that let's them know that you are okay to use it around imo ... only time i encounter that word honestly is on BGOL ... soon as I stopped using it people stopped using it around me ... same with profanity ... for the most part you get back what you put out there I am noticing ... might happen to me tomorrow but it's been years since someone used that word in a conversation with me iirc

nah we weren't tho. the whole interaction was just based on them wearing SF Giants gear, then we were like did they win, they were like no, then me and dude just starting discussing why Lincecum is having such a terrible year...he just kind of said it in the course of us agreeing on some Giants related shit.

but I agree, I try not to curse so much. but damn if nigga isn't expressive  don't front its a great word when you are talking shit.

yeah but is that your vocabulary can do? same thing with cussing believe it or not it reduces your ability to communicate slightly ... for a kid i can give it a pass but imo old cats using that word lackadaisically (not accusing anyone btw) makes me think they somehow don't know better

to each his own tho :dunno:

You're a bitch nigga. I'm convinced that black people are actually scared of white people and over-criticize their own people at the drop of a hat. Most black people are fucking WEAK. Weak fucking bitches. I know black people don't have my back, and neither does any other race, I trust none of you.
