How many miles is too many for a used car?

"Accident reported
Involving right rear impact
It hit a motor vehicle
Slight damage reported"

on one of the cars I'm looking at in 2009. Think that's bad?

go for the clean title bruh. you think youre getting a deal but later you'll pay.

name the makes/models or its hard to tell you what is good. toyota, honda usually is solid if you have limited budget. i could name some makes and models but you should say what you're thinking of.

i stay in used cars (fuck a lease) so i know the pitfalls.

to me it depends on the car. But generally I wouldnt get anything over 30k. But my last was a maxima with 80k bought in 2002. It starting giving problems around 198k. I drove up till this year and got 209k. But nissan holds it down. Everyone I know that has had a Nissan has gotten mega miles out it.

I had a 95 Nissan Sentra in college and my sister had it before me. I literally rode that bitch til the wheels fell off. That car went as far north as New York. As far South as Miami. As far west as Texas.

For me, any car that the warranty has expired due to miles, I may lose out sometime, but I like the idea of extending an existing warranty. The vehicle must also be certified. I rarely buy new cars because the immediate loss after driving off the lot.

Nothing fucks with a Maxima. I have a 1996 one, and I was shocked the other day to see 223K on it. And it's still a beast!!!

OP - Just average roughly 10k to 15k per year: So if you are looking at a used 2004 model car if it has between 70k to 90k miles on it, thats okay, but like others have said, it comes down to the service record of the car.

yall stay in those leased bimmers and denalis my cheap ass rides 90s cars to the ends of the earth

I forgot to mention my Max was a 96 stick shift...i really should have rebuilt the engine and kept it moving.
I miss that car.

An Acura with 40,000 miles is a lot different from a Chevy with 40,000.

If the car is Japanese, and by that I mean manufactured in Japan. I'd take the chance. If it's American forget it. I have been a bit disapointed about the problems recieved about the U.S. built Toyota Sequoia. Rougly 85k to 90k miles for about 6k is reasonable.

Get this car with less than 60k on it and you will ride for a long time.

My first car was an 84 Chevy S10 with 275k miles on it, I put 50k more miles on it mostly driving around the NYC(Bronx) and all I did was add oil as needed....:D

Just looked at a used Land Rover today. Higher mileage than i'd usually purchase but it's clean as fuck with one previous owner and a squeaky clean car fax report. Still debating.

I bought a '92 max back in '96 with 60,000 miles on it. I now have 245,000 miles and still going strong. I use it for running errands and for going to work (40 miles round trip perday). I drive an '04 Infinit(40,000 miles) for going out with fam etc... both made by nissan when they were only produced in Japan.

I got a 04 g35 that i got with 28k on that clock 4 yrs ago. I now have 120k on the clock. Hasnt given me any trouble

Folks don't understand the quality of the following brands:

Nissan
Toyota
Honda.

I swear by Nissan cars, and it is all I will drive going forward, unless I get a luxury car (BMWs).

I had a feeling that I was gonna hear this about the Land Rover from someone. The reviews on the net were good, I know a Rover Dealer Owner, has a cool warranty on it and the Wife likes it.
Ugh!
How bout the Buick Rendezvous? Any words on those?

I never owned one but as far as I can figure out, a rover is like that pretty girl that everybody says is too nuts to date. they are fun to drive though.

Once a car gets over 100,000 miles then parts should start to be replaced. If you begin to replace parts you can ride for a long time

It all depends....my first car was a Chevy Lumina and I rode that bitch till it hit 206k but my next car wasnt taken care of before I had it so I ended up having to get another car once it hit 90k.
