I Mean William Leonard Robinson is a proven Fraud, but yet he still got sum niggaz creaming on them selves. I never really never followed the expose about his career as a C.O until now, the problem that I have is that niggaz talked mad shit about HAMMER, when he was hot, he was a sellout, as well else P when was caking, but ROSS gets a pass cuz his FLOWS is cool! Where's the integrity in RAP?, is it that BAD, or is it " if it makes money, SELL THAT SHIT?

Hip Hop is a fantasy world.

As such I give little to no credence to anything emcees say.

You should do the same.

But back in the day u was considered fraudulent in hip-hop if the shit u spit wasn't shit u lived.. Now it's ok to do sprite commercials now?, I guess kid n play, Pete rock was a little too early cuz they caught flack doing that shit!... Oh NIGGAZ gettin' WHITE FOLKS MONEY!!

I may be showing my age but I pretty much knew that the shit wasn't real and just a fantasy when N.W.A the most legendary hardcore group of our time was invited to the white house By the first Bush. And I think they made 1 more album after that.

Actually today's consumer is just not as sophisticated. Ever since the mainsteam pushed socially conscious/political hip hop off the airwaves today's fans think that party & bullshit/thug rapping/flashing/swagging is all there is to rap about. This generation is not moved by the Dead Prez or Immortal Technique type rappers. My generation was into Public Enemy, KRS 1 before he became crazy, Brand Nubian, PRT, Paris, Coup, and X-Clan. They were all able to see the airwaves and get regular spins. I still have fond memories of fly ladies rapping and dancing to "Paid in Full" by Eric B. and Rakim. Those days are sadly long gone.

Its Entertainment so who really cares if he aint no thug he can rap leave it at that an please Dont be a hater. If u can do better Do it If not STFU :ssshhh:

cmon man, bringing up hammer in this convo betrays your age. most of the rap fans carrying ross were like 4 when hammer was hot.

How many times are we going to discuss the same shit? Ross is a good artist. The main objective of a recording artist is to entertain. Are you not entertained? I am, so I dont have a problem with him. He makes good music...bottom line. :hmm:

will you please look at da younger generation.. take a real good look around this mufucker.. i personally give ross a pass just off da fear of him being replaced by some skinny jean, limp wrist, mumbling ass rap nigga.. why eminem get a pass for calling a black women a ni663r? why lil wayne get a pass after kissing another nigga? answer that first...

For what it's worth that's how I feel about Kanye West...he came in @ a time when everybody was on the same ignant shit more or less...he offered something "different" to listen to and cats ate it up...granted he has made some good songs...but dude is average to me...so is Rick Ross

WILLIAM LEONARD ROSS doesn't bring anything new to the table.

It's just that there is so much mediocrity in hip hop that his crap sounded levels above it. But if you put it up to classics like Get Rich or Die Trying or College DropOut or Graduation or My Dark Fantasy, his stuff can't even compare.

Ross is hot his verses are hot wtf .....niggaz hating ....I seen the same thing happen to jay......and still assholes are sayin what if..fuck what if ,it is what is hotness

saw what you want about his career choices and you can say it was because of a rap recession but Ross had one of if not the best years in hip hop in '10.

not this shit again :smh:

if you arent feeling him for whatever reason then dont buy/listen to his shit. I will continue to play it though.

Pay close attention to whats happening

These artist arent selling enough records to profit these days.

The industry crashed in 2004.

There was a time when selling gold (500k units) was nothing.

They actually knew to ship gold + for certain artist.

Based on all the money this nigreau spent on cameos and videos

Rick is most likely in the hole...

Rick is one of the "projects" to keep people believing in the music industry.

Aint many of you mothafuckas who call yourselves fans that went out and bought his shit.

Ross is hot his verses are hot wtf .....niggaz hating ....I seen the same thing happen to jay......and still assholes are sayin what if..fuck what if ,it is what is hotness

the nigga you made your screen name after was hotter than rick ross over 15 years ago

this means nothing to you i see.

do you even see this?

slim none of that shit he is spitting is even close to authentic

none of it is innovative...

ALL of it has been said before by many different niggas in the 90s

His flow is weak and his lyrics predictable

It's pretty simple:

1) It's entertainment. It's a lot of cats in the game that you can't take seriously, yes Ross is one of them. Probably half the rappers you listen to are just as fake. At the most, these cats were corner boys or knew actual drug dealers.

2) He's a story teller/actor. If you ever believed this nigga was a rapping Nino Brown/Scarface character, you got to be gullible as fuck.

3) He makes nice tracks. If you don't like this shit he makes, don't listen.

4) Real gangsters don't rap, I think that was Ice Cube who said that. I guarantee most of these gangsta rappers haven't touched a 64th of the dope, guns and dirty money they claim they have.

Shit is just funny to me the shit that grown ass men are given a pass for in the black community.

Alot of silly ass shit is okay for grown men to be doing and talking about in the black community.

Niggas see these clown ass niggas as rebels too as if they are bucking the system

well dont listen to it :dunno:

more importantly, dont waste your time trying to convince me not to listen to it.

nah you are who you are by this stage of the game

im talking about the youth who still have a chance to do great things ;)

in that case why are they channeling rappers period??

some people can actuallyjust be entertained without taking anything from it, while others clinch on to everything they see and mirror it.. like smoking rocks ;)

Nah slim some people are highly selective about their art and that shit is entry level.

Niggas act like theres no real hip hop to compare them niggas to though :smh:

There are dudes who really write out here man....many of em.

Writing new innovative fresh shit...thats special when you have heard it all before.

Them niggas like Rick Ross just re run old standard ass known nigreau shit from the 80s-90s

Which is cool but damn add some new flair or a twist to it at least.

At the end of the day people like what they like..I like Max b and thought he
was the next to blow.but many niggas werent feeling him. People like what
they like and its a constant lately the music leans towards less substance or
fluff. At the end of the day its art..a picture that you listen to and if you seen
some shit too many times its not as entertaining to you...

Shit is different now :dunno:

Its entertainment! Jeez.
Right from its rise in the 80's to now I have enjoyed gangsta rap the same way I watch action movies ("hip-hop" is not synonymous with Gangsta rap) - AS A FANTASY.
DO I care whether Arnold, Tom Cruise, James Bond, Jackie Chan etc are badasses? Did Val Kilmer have to be a bank robber to act in the movie, Heat? Nope!
So I've never cared if its was real.

Indeed, this childishness of rejecting rappers who are not 'real' gangsta's has caused problems for our communities (including the death of the 2 best gangsta rappers ever).
