Three decades after 'Martin' aired its final episode, the beloved '90s sitcom is getting a spinoff show starring Tommy Davidson as late-night host Varnell Hill.
Has to be a given that Martin will appear on the show at some point..maybe the pilot
I’m not sure if these types of shows are still relevant in today’s society. I’ve been watching “Papa’s Place” with Damon Waynes, and it’s garbage. The only reason I’ve kept watching it is because of Essence Atkins. Someone else mentioned above that it’s definitely 30 years too late.
How do you feel about the upshaws?

What’s funny is that I see some saying they waited too long. But I’m gonna disagree. In the 90s a lot of those shows that tried to spin off popular shows didn’t work. Especially a lot of black shows. Doing it now I think brings a lot of new eyes as well as old ones. I think timing is perfect.
Yeah it’s not must see tv for me but I think I just like drama and crime shows now. When I do watch it’s pretty good.

Enough of the old school crowd may tune in to the reboot to make it a commercial success but to millions of Gen X -- Y & Z -- the Martin show is "ancient history." There too many other shows relevant to their interests to look at a 30 y.o. reboot of an sitcom on their I-Phones/tablets! Good luck to the multi-talented Tommy D.
