Agreed. It's like my cousin said years back when walking along a local trail and spotting a bear ahead.
You freeze ... then wonder:
- Do I make noise?
- Do I make or avoid eye contact?
- Do I run like hell in the other direction?
- Do I try and scare them off?
- Are their cubs nearby?
He said he just froze in place ... once the bear stepped back into the bushes / forest ... he turned and ran like hell to ensure safety.
