Today, Google announced three new online certificate programs in data analytics, project management and user experience design.

The certificates are created and taught by Google employees, do not require a college degree, can be completed in three to six months and are offered through the online learning platform Coursera. Google says it will consider all of its certificates as the equivalent of a four-year college degree for related roles at the company.

I am lookin for a new direction. Retired from the military as an Intelligence Analyst but I am tired of reading all day. I love the information in Intelligence but it clogs your head and you get to the point where you cant even decypher CNN from sensitive material so you dont even comment. Just tell people I read and analyse all day. I'm not concerned with the money, since my petition is an add on.

Which one of these jobs can I walk in and walk out with a smile on my face. No matter how cool or annoying the co workers are but that I completed my work day with satisfaction.

couple of things:

1. It a good opportunity to power up on knowledge

It's target market is to get more under-qualified white people in the door, so they lowered the hiring bar
3. Black people in tech need to get their hands wet building products/projects. Volunteer to build something for someone, do public challenges to get your experience level up.

Good post. With remote work, corporations (especially in IT) are accepting more candidates with certifications from credible online academies like Coursera in place of a Bacherlor’s Degree. Less time and money spent.

Some are saying the Google certs are worthless and CompTIA is still the standard.
