Have we had a running back as good as Montgomery since he left?

He got Sweat and Allen, but there's also Nate Davis and Claypool

He's drafted Tyrique, but he also drafted Velus

He had a chance to reset things last year and get a new coach...which everyone was saying. Instead he just got a new Offensive Coordinator.

I don't think he's done that great, but he had no where to go but up
Do you think that Ryan Pace had nowhere to go but up because that's basically what you're saying.
I'd take Montgomery over any RB that we've had since then but the team still had an effective run game after he left. The cupboard was bare at WR when Poles got here. The team was bad and had a horrible cap situation so we couldn't even acquire players in free agency.
He chose to bring back Eberflus but I'm sure that not only was that how he was leaning but also it was the direction favored by ownership since they're cheap.
Every GM misses, Bears or otherwise. The same front office that used their 1st pick on Patrick Mahomes then used their 1st pick in the next year's draft on someone who played 16 games for their career.

Sad that you have to be here since nobody but you replies in your own thread.

Oh look, its DJ the dummy bummy gummy Bare.

Just make sure that payment is ready come the 28th.

We have no problem with eviction of lowlifes from the division. Your welfare mom QB ain't getting no breaks on da rent.

Hopefully we can put your deadbeat dad coach out his misery after we drop a 50 piece on Turkey Day. Since the Princess only plays when the game is in question, we plan on giving her plenty of beauty rest.

Your Bares went 4-4 with a cake ass schedule. Im going to miss you and your spunky lil attitude so much when rest of the schedule sucks the life out of your personal fandom and your post in this thread go dead.

Since you are such sourpuss about this season, how about I offer you some sour piss flavored gummy bummy bares

(DJ enjoying her piss candy)

(Sour piss gummies, perfect for Bares fans)

....maybe these can make you feel better?????

Because these are gonna taste just like the rest of your season. Pissy and Sour.

Y'all even mentioning Ben Johnson name so he can tell you to kick rocks is hilarious. Ain't no way is he taking a job in the same division or a dumpster fire like the Bares.

Congratulations on getting the 3rd-6th best QB available. Had you dumbass stuck with Fields you would be way ahead of the curve. Now you are 9 games from starting all over with a new GM and coach.

Welcome to the bottomless abyss of last place. Where QBs go to die and coaches never had a chance.

Sad to see him go, but glad he'll get some burn there
Even though he isn't that good at blocking and receiving, he can get you the 15-20 yard run. The Bears needed that element this year to go with Swift and RoJo. You lose a 4.4 qb that can get you about 55-60 yards per game just from scrambling, yet you don't try to make up for that loss by rotating in Herbert and Velus with the top 2 guys? Stupid.

Man I really hate chicago bears sports media/radio
Now they are attacking DJ Moore for not being a team player,
which is farther from the truth on the disarray at Halas Hall.
I think DJ dont respect the bears OC and coaching staff.
You know, maybe chicago dont deserve a good football team.
These reporters are fucking awful. If I see any of em on the
street I am elbowing em in the neck.

Also Brad Biggs of the Tribune is now saying that Eberflus signed a 5 year contract when he was hired so the McCaskeys paying him for 3 years not to coach if he got fired last year was not likely. Hopefully they're willing to pay him for 2

Yeah, but this more so goes for the reporters reporting how could Chicago bring back someone who was going to be a lame duck coach and someone they weren't committed too after Caleb's first year.

They all assumed it was only four.

Yo BEAR fans I just remembered on why Poles didnt fire Eberflus in the off-season.
Did yall know that former Bears defensive lineman Trace Armstrong is the
same agent for Poles and Eberflus?

Poles and Eberflus gives us BEAR fans the illusion that the vetting process
is very detailed long process but their agent Armstrong finagled the
McKaskeys, BIll Polian and former bean counter/team pres Ted Phillips into hiring both
of them.

So I am wondering if the BEARS fall short of the playoffs and have another 7-10 losing season
WIll GM Poles make business decision for the BEARs organization or maintain his career objectives.

Poles might not have a choice with Kevin Warren

That's interesting though.

Yeah I knew this and I've never forgotten it. Now reports have come out from Bears beat writer Brad Biggs that Eberflus doesn't have a 4 year deal but a 5 year deal. You give a unproven coach a 5 year deal.....smh! That happens when you have the same agent. Also I heard Shane Waldron has the same agent as Poles and Eberflus.. Smh!

You do it, because it was a rebuilding project. Coaches who take over a rebuilding team normally get five years to account for the time it may take to turn things around.

What do you think his career objectives are? After all Poles is a black executive in the NFL. He's not likely to get a 2nd chance without some level of sustained success. Ryan Pace is more likely to get a 2nd GM job than Poles. So the better question to that would be what is his mandate from his bosses, Kevin Warren and the McCaskeys?
First of all, Trace Armstrong has a lot of clients who are head coaches. It's one of the reasons why the Ryan Day rumors were so strong years ago.

He's also Matt Nagy's agent

Good question, it's all in the game Yo. I believe it depends on the organization as a whole. What does each franchise care about the most, the X's and O's on the field or the organizations perceived structure in wins or losses.

For Instance, Back in the mid 70s, old man Halas hired Jim Finks (from the Vikings/Saints ). Finks had good knowledge on the X's & O's on college talent pertaining towards player evaluations and organizational structured football. Finks was able to do both, thats were the success led up the Super Bowl Shuffle. Vainisi replaced him 83, but he was more of an organization structure executive.

The caveat for Poles would be able to sell himself to be an effective general manager. In some ways, he has done that
with the ability of getting good draft capital for players. Of course, he fails in getting potential #1 talented OLINEMEN, but he has established a football hierarchy within the BEARS organization. Something, which haven't been done in over 40 seasons.

So yes, I believe that he would have a second chance, if the BEARs move on from him being a GM.

And your rationale is why I personally don't feel as if Poles job is currently on the line even if Eberflus' job may be. I'm hoping that we can get this turned around not just in the moment like late last season but for the long term.

Brad Briggs -"The #Bears ought to get an O-line makeover in the offseason. GM Ryan Poles has had a hand in one before. The Chiefs turned over 80% of their line after Super Bowl LV. The timing could be right too with what looks to be a good class & extra draft capital..."

This quote by Brad Briggs is so true, The Ravens, Viqueens and even the fudgepackers
have done the same thing with revamping their O Line.
Poles just haven't had the best player evaluations on the O line talent.
So its possible.

Three fucking points.

I don't care what you guys say

Poles is responsible for this bullshit and shouldn't get a pass. He's done the fuckin bare minimum.

Our offense looks like shit, and it starts with the offensive line and the offensive coordinator. Seattle didn't even think Waldron was good.

Everyone was saying Flus should have been gone to bring in a new everything.

Poles could possibly be responsible for ruining a number one draft pick. Caleb's now been sacked over 30 times and our offense has looked like shit three games in a row and has been out played by Drake and Daniels.

You drafted a fucking project in the third round, like we were good enough to afford a project. And a fuckin punter....what the fuck.

Where's Kmet? Where are the screen passes to the back?

I can't help but to laugh bruh because we've been here before. I'm not even upset. They day he decided not to fire Eberflus was the day he doomed his QB. Harbaugh was right there and they could of had him. They didn't even reach out to him. Hell Ben Johnson would have probably took the job. It's only going to get worse, Packers next week.. Lmao!
