Despite his attempt to clarify, a lot of people feel there is some irony in his current situation and have taken to social media to voice their lack of sympathy.

We're told as soon as Kim and Kanye heard about A$AP's predicament earlier this month ... Kanye urged Kim to get on the horn and talk to Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner -- with whom Kim is very familiar from her previous White House work.
Kardashian has made headlines for meeting with Trump Administration officials in order to get inmates, such as Alice Marie Johnson, released from prison in America. Those efforts were connected to the reality show star backing longtime criminal justice reform advocates Brittany K. Barnett and MiAngel Cody. Barnett co-founded the Buried Alive Project.
A$AP Rocky (born Rakim Mayers) is currently behind bars in Sweden after the native New Yorker was seen in a video getting into a physical altercation with two men in Stockholm. The emcee's supporters contend Rocky is being held without just cause because he was defending himself against aggressors.

Prime Minister Stefan Lofven provided a Swedish civics lesson Saturday in rebuffing President Trump’s efforts to spring rapper A$AP Rocky from a Scandinavian jail.
The president, in a 20-minute phone call with Lofven, “offered to personally vouch” for the Grammy-nominated hip-hop star’s bail if the move would secure the artist’s freedom.
But a spokesman for Lofven said the prime minister explained to the president that he could not and would not interfere in the legal process.
“The Prime Minister made sure to point out that the Swedish judicial system, prosecutors and courts are completely independent,” said a statement from spokesman Toni Eriksson. “He also pointed out that everyone is equal before the law and that the government neither can nor will try to influence the judicial process.”

Trump, in a pair of earlier tweets, sounded a more optimistic note about the conversation.
“I assured him that A$AP was not a flight risk, and offered to personally vouch for his bail or an alternative,” Trump said after the call. “Our teams will be talking further, and we agreed to speak again in the next 48 hours.”
Eriksson, in his statement, offered a different take: “It is possible that there will be follow-up calls, but right now there is not one planned.”
Rapper Kanye West and his wife Kim Kardashian West initially called Trump to initiate the White House’s intervention.
The 30-year rapper was arrested July 3 after a brawl three days earlier in Stockholm, although a defense attorney claimed the artist was acting in self-defense. A video circulated on social media appeared to show the rapper throwing someone to the ground.
The rapper, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, has received support from an assortment of high-profile music industry figures including Nicki Minaj, Sean “Diddy” Combs and Justin Bieber.
“I want my friend out … I appreciate you trying to help him,” Bieber tweeted Saturday to the president. “But while (you’re) at it Donald Trump can you also let those kids out of cages?”
