I just ran into this quote about suicide which perfectly explains it to people who don't get it.
"The so-called ‘psychotically depressed’ person who tries to kill herself doesn't do so out of quote ‘hopelessness’ or any abstract conviction that life's assets and debits do not square. And surely not because death seems suddenly appealing. The person in whom Its invisible agony reaches a certain unendurable level will kill herself the same way a trapped person will eventually jump from the window of a burning high-rise. Make no mistake about people who leap from burning windows. Their terror of falling from a great height is still just as great as it would be for you or me standing speculatively at the same window just checking out the view; i.e. the fear of falling remains a constant.
The variable here is the other terror, the fire's flames: when the flames get close enough, falling to death becomes the slightly less terrible of two terrors. It's not desiring the fall; it's terror of the flames. Yet nobody down on the sidewalk, looking up and yelling ‘Don‘t!’ and ‘Hang on!’, can understand the jump. Not really. You'd have to have personally been trapped and felt flames to really understand a terror way beyond falling."

comedians, man, they always seems to have the worst demons.
Maybe he did find happiness and it got stale..Nothing worse than seeing a man rot from old money, its like there is nothing left but down to go..can make some of the funniest jokes but can't find happiness in there life RIP
One of the biggest comedy thieves EVER!
Ironically, the comic who used to accused Robin of stealing his bits, David Brenner, died earlier this year. Maybe that caused Robin to go into depression over lack of material
It wasn't just Brenner. He stole from so many comics at the Comedy Store that he was afraid to go I there even after all the voice he stole from stop going.

Comics are always accusing someone of stealing there material which has occurred often and will continue with unoriginal wannabee's.
But here's the thing, Most of the subject matter or material that comics have in there routine are trite subject matters that have been written and performed over and over again.
The only thing that make the material seems different in some respect is the delivery.
Some comics have writers that will sell the same joke to different comedians to make more money.
David Brenner and Robbin Williams style of delivery is on polar opposites.
Robbin's style is high energy and spontaneous, lots of movement, adrenaline rushed, and oft times with audience participation, Where as Brenner's style of delivery seemed to be methodical, less movement and layed back.

I don't think people over 60 have to be mentally ill to off themselves, think about it , they luved their lives and shit really starts going downhill, in many cases. Some rather choose not being a old dude sitting back and waiting for life to throw some wild shit your direction. There are a lot of fucked up ways of dying old, and some rather go out with what dignity they have left.WoW!!!
Ive heard some great stories about him via Black Comedic legends.
Seemed like a cool dude.
Based off the folks he hanged with.
Im sure he lived a wild life.
Im also sure he enjoyed himself.
If he did kill himself...I wonder what sent him over the edge after all this time.
Folks who cant find happiness UNTIL they get money or acquire a lot of things via their money are some of the most depressed people in the world.
That "financial security" can only fill so many voids.
RIP to the dude!!!
Btw...all the folks thats tryna over analyze Suicides. Bottom line, excluding those who have serious mental condition, if you kill yourself or try to kill yourself ..thats just a sign of weakness. You lack resiliency. You lack fight. You became weak. Simple as that! Might not sound right..but it is what it is.
Someone losing it and killing someone else is crazy as shit as well..but when you decide to take your own life...thats on a different level. Imho................
