Theresa Randle Arrested For Felony Assault
Theresa Randle, a former actress known for starring in movies like Space Jam, Malcolm X, and the Bad Boys franchise, was arrested in California this week for assault, according to TMZ.
According to law enforcement sources, police were initially called to a residence in an Los Angeles neighborhood on October 5 regarding an alleged assault involving Randle. By the time officers arrived, she had already left the scene.
On Monday, two days later, she was arrested after a caller at the same home made a new report of a possible domestic issue and a potential restraining order violation. Randle was “irate and far from cooperative during the booking process,” according to TMZ. Sources told the site that the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office rejected her case when she appeared in court on Wednesday.
Randle, 59, started her career as a dancer and later transitioned to an actress with her breakout role as “Brandy” in the 1993 film Poetic Justice.”Her career peaked in the 90s, later starring in blockbuster films including the aforementioned Bad Boys franchise, Malcom X, Space Jam and Jungle Fever.
Randle starred as the wife of Martin Lawrence’s character in all three Bad Boys films to date. It was expected Randle would return to her role after Sony confirmed Bad Boys 4 was moving forward, but that was not the case.
After the announcement, many people speculated that Randle’s alleged health concerns after a video featuring her allegedly seen using a walker went viral on social media might be a reason for the recasting decision. However, the reason behind her recasting is unclear. Randle did not comment publicly on the decision.
