I didnt want to derail their thread out of respect for their battle, so Ima drop this here....
Best Verzuz ever for me.
What is epic is that these 2 had beef. Beenie married Bounty's ex-girlfriend Angel.
is good/interesting to see them clown around with each other tonight.
This was pure Clash! It reminded me of Sting International and Reggae Sun Splash.
Americans dont really know anything about that. Jamaicans were the first "rappers". They been "battling".
Swizz and Timbo need to pay more homage they acting like Verzuz aint a copy of Jamaican Culture.
They slack for that.
Yes.
Yes. What the fuck blues and jazz got to do with Kool Herc plugging in his sound system to the lamp post and playing dancehall to the crowd.
Fuck you talking about?
This is the sentiment we talkin bout. This Jamaican hears "Girls Dem Sugar" now he geeked and wanna erase us. Not CACs tho. Jamaicans having a good time embracing their culture doesnt make him wanna dry hate on the white man.
![Lol  ](/forum/images/smilies/lol.gif)
notice after the Teddy Riley Babyface battle and the Jill Scott Badu battle us Yankees wasnt thinkin bout Jamaicans and crying for attention.
Verzus and hip hop came from Jamaica? Got it.
This is our fault guys. We embraced Pan Afrikanism to our detriment. We allowed outsiders too much leeway to center themselves in our culture. Those days are over. Whats funny is I made a post 3 days ago detailing how ADOS jazz, doo wop, and soul directly influenced ska and reggae. But of course due their anti ADOS bigotry they never say that. The logic is Black Americans cant create culture.
This is why this fool believes Jamaican immigrants created a hip hop culture in America, which makes 0 sense. If that were the case why the fuck didnt they create it in Jamaica? Is Montego Bay and Kingston more "hip hop" than say Atlanta or Houston? Jamaicans like everyone else were GUEST in an ADOS music genre. All the best rappers and rap albums come from ADOS. Now some claim they created it and we are the guests, we are the students. Kool Herc just magically knew what ADOS soul and funk records to play at his party huh?
