The question I have is why wouldn't multi-millionaire Ice Cube cover the funeral expenses of A.J. who contributed greatly to the success of his movie Friday.
Look a motherfcuker got thousands of dollars to make coleslaw so I get the crowd-funding route, but getting mad cause the money ain't there or the fans ain't pony up for his unexpected death?!?! We did pony up when he starred in movies or toured doing comedy shows. Everything else after that is not on us. I am 10 years younger than him and I have a life insurance policy for such an occasion, even got the one where if I commit suicide I am still covered, plus what my job offers. As the head of your table that shyt is your responsibility, not my parents, kids, friends, etc... Now if folks want to help yes we will take help, but help isn't supposed to be the main source of correcting a problem.
I have mixed feelings about her statement but I’m going to say this……black people get life insurance and explain it to your love ones the details of your life insurance. Every year I have a talk with my mom and sisters About my life insurance and other benefits when I do my open enrollment plans with my job. Again people we need to be open about this because I am sick of us going through this every time someone dies. You all think this is bad you should see what’s going on with people with Covid deaths.

I don't think it is feeling like we're gonna get played or anything like that, but more along the lines of putting celebrities all in the same group. You think of celebs all having "access", having the ability to demand the best, etc... Then you have a celeb die and all of a sudden they need money, what happened to that "access", those vacations and cars could have gone to preparing for the inevitable.

Understood. Cube is definitely not responsible for paying for AJ's funeral but Cube's net worth is over 160 million why wouldn't he, or any other well off black celebrity who knew him as a friend? Twenty thousand dollars would mean little to them but a whole lot to AJ's wife.
