Rice is a more moderate member of the party, a former district attorney who represents parts of Long Island. She currently serves on the House Committee on Homeland Security. Rice's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Pelosi praised the appointments in a statement.
"House Democrats are united in our mission to Build Back Better, and with these strong voices at the table, we will deliver on that sacred promise to make a real difference for all Americans," she said.

Another issue, much like Sanders bitch ass, she was nowhere to be found when Nancy was purposefully tanking the economy during stimulus negotiations because she thought that was the way to beat Trump. NOW AOC wants to stand up for people and direct payments. Where was she when they were offered before the election and Nancy denied them?
AOC seems to be following the path of Sanders. Talks a good game, but falls in line when shit gets real. She can change that with the floor vote. In fact, the way the House is now she can basically run shit if she is for real. Her social media game combined with the current house numbers would crush Nancy. Nancy would literally lose her shit in every interview.
I think you overestimate her influence dude. All that will happen is a schism in the party that the GOP will exploit at BEST. At worst for her..she may overplay her hand and find out how influential she's NOT and make serious enemies within the party who will exclude her and seek to oust her at every opportunity.She has the power to chin check Nancy. Agreed. You can’t insult your senior leaders and then expect their backing. Her and the rest of the squad have passion but their approach is off. They also have a tendency to alienate their opposition. Granted, this is a problem with both sides of the aisle as neither one seems to remember that compromise is the key to real progression but I think that AOC does it in spades. Her tech savvy behavior is great and appealing to young voters however, she also stays in a Twitter beef. This ain’t high school. Even trump supporters hated when he did it. It’s off putting and childish. In short, she needs to learn to play the game better. Why would u not cozy up to the leader (pelosi) and learn all you can while preparing to take her place? Would seem like the smarter play. But I think she enjoys the attention. Which is understandable.
