Anderson Paak & Bruno Mars = Silk Sonic

LOL! I rather listen to the old school. But its kinda cool that some new school cats are figuring out digital music has reached its peak. Live instruments is where its at. Beyond the classic 80s syth sound that rime period is know for most of the best music was still live instruments done in a studio.

I think Bruno is a special talent and Anderson is solid to. But I still haven't heard a ground breaking song feomt either guy. As Emo as the The Weeknd is he doesn't lack in creativity or risk taking. Sometimes I think Kanye looks in the mirror for hours and yells at it wishing he could get his groove back and swearing that the Weekend stole his mojo Dr Evil style.

We already can see.

Silk Sonic exists because R&B is in such a terrible state.

The best R&B singer of the last 30 years has been found to be a sexual predator.

So that leaves you with a bunch of British fags, racist latinas, emo Canadians and singers who'd rather mumble rappers populating the genre.

Mars and Paak go listen to a throwaway track on an Enchantment album and turn it into a trending hit because people are so starved for something Black that isn't rap.

You wanna see what Silk Sonic is gonna do next, go to Youtube and cue up any R&B, soul, or funk song released between 1969 and 1985.
you mad, huh?

1. R&B is in a terrible state in your mind. My Apple Music is poppin. Countless R&B acts making great music.

2. A Sexual predator that makes great music. The greatest R&B artist of our time. Get it correct.

3. Your music sources are sub-par. You must listen to the radio.

4. So you're mad at taking inspiration from the classics? Sounds like a hater!

5. See response #4

Can't be mad at the "only" ones doing "real music". Seems pretty idiotic.

You would have been better off by just saying thank you.

1. R&B is in a terrible state, this has been discussed at length, and in the past few years, it has gotten extremely noticeable.

2. He might be the greatest R&B singer of our time but he's been effectively silenced and may never be seen again, what good does that do the genre?

3. My sources are the same as yours.

4. I'm not mad, grow the fuck up.

It just doesn't sound original, it sounds like Mars and Paak are doing karaoke. There are artists who do retro-inspired music but they add touches of modern sound to it so it feels original while paying tribute to a classic artist or sound. Even soundcloud synthwave artists know how to do that.

so basically... you’re mad.. get off that weak shit, nigga! Going back and forth about a song that you don’t care about... is weak

No, I have an opinion and you have no real response for it.

my response is that you’re a hater... you have your opinion, that the music is unoriginal. I agree!... But does it sound good? These mafakas could inspire the next generation... Prince, Kool and the Gang, Stevie means nothing to this generation unfortunately. This could be their introduction to the classics

None of this will introduce kids to classics. When this shit dies down, Mars and Paak will move on to something else.

I’m not saying they are as great by any means.

What i mean by that is the contrast in styles.

Bruno Mars, like Mike is a pop star.

Paak, like Stevie or Prince has songs for days.. and has more soul than the pop star.

LTDO sounded like a continuation of the 24k Magic album, but I think the styles will mesh great on this project.

Oh okay. That's fine then.

Though I like the song, it sounds like something blackstreet could have made with Teddy Riley getting producer's credit

I don't know fam, it didn't look like they were really playing except for Paak.
The cat up front on the bass has a link on his IG page where HE is playing that organ riff and not Mars.
I Just Meant on the Track In General....Paak and New Nationals Usually Use Real Instruments on Their Songs

Somebody please help me out...
Did this single come on a cd
or was it released as a single
to buy or stream?
I can't seem to find this CD.
Thanks.
