Best thing to ever happen to Android. Why nobody ever tell me about this?

It doesn't drain my battery like other GV apps and it's smooth. I get all my SMS and everything. I can switch between using my GV number or cell number. I call all my hoes using GV that way none of my activities show on my phone records. I like how I can check my voicemail and access the settings all one spot too.

Also, I can disable GV whenever I'm around wifey so no unexpected calls or text come through while I'm in the bathroom, sleep, or around her. Keeps normal dialer and history squeaky clean of evidence..

Just thought I'd share.

Hmmm I've been using the regular SMS app on my Android and have never used Hangout. I've also never used the google voice thing...

no need for google voice, just make your calls with hangouts, us and canada free, long distance real cheap

This has been talked about numerous times. Someone just made a thread a few weeks ago, asking if they can make calls from their device without a service plan.

Google Voice as a product has been slept on... it hadn't been updated for a while until recently, but Google fucking sucks at marketing/explaining their products :smh:

i got 2 google voice # plus my reg number , i can make calls and recieve sms on any of them under hangouts without a hitch, and it gives u the option of using data or cellular

That's what I like about it. Hangouts itself is inconspicuous as hell when it comes down to creeping. It's a godsend for cheaters. If I had a separate app my girl would be like, "what's that for?"... :hmm:

Google Voice update - first in years.
http://www.androidpolice.com/2017/01/23/google-resurrects-voice-gives-app-website-full-makeover/

Here is the apk
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/googl...gle-voice-5-0-144897884-android-apk-download/

Google Voice was a big deal when it launched back in 2009—there was a waiting list to get access, and the entire concept felt magical. However, Google seemed to give up on Voice some years ago, offering users the option to port some features of Voice into Hangouts and Project Fi. Now, Google Voice is back and completely revamped.

The Voice app was in a pretty sorry state until now with a thoroughly Holo interface. The new app looks like it belongs on a phone from 2017, and you can navigate to your texts, calls, and voicemails using the inbox tabs. Some of the features that were only available if you ported messaging to Hangouts are now available in Voice, including MMS for photos and group texts. Since this is now a modern Android app, you can also expect to see nice animations, brighter colors, and quick replies from notifications.

Google has pledged not to let Voice fall into disrepair again. There will apparently be regular updates to the app and web interface going forward. One of those updates will add support for the next generation RCS messaging standard. The app is just now starting its slow rollout and should be available to everyone in a few days. As soon as you have the new app installed, the web interface should switch over to the new one. We'll post the APK as soon as we get our grubby paws on it.

Man I have been using GV forever and the only issue I had was having to email pics. Then hangouts let you send out pics but this update is the shit!!!!!

I would gladly pay for this mofo right here.
