Angel Reese shared a classy message moments after South Carolina defeated Iowa in the national championship game on Sunday afternoon. Despite losing to both teams during the season - with the Hawkeyes letdown coming at the NCAA Tournament - Reese kept things positive.
"Such a great season for WBB!" Reese wrote on X, formerly Twitter. "Congrats SC!! Excited for what’s next & continuing to come for WBB!"

Reese also singled out Gamecocks sophomore guard Raven Johnson for her defense on Caitlin Clark during the national championship game, appreciating a player that just a couple of weeks ago faced her in a heated SEC Tournament title clash.

Clark, 22, scored a game-high 30 points, but it was not enough as Iowa again fell short of winning the title. Behind a dominant second quarter, the Gamecocks turned around an early deficit to complete its perfect 38-0 season and exact revenge for losing to Iowa in last year's Final Four.
Reese and LSU fell to Iowa in the Elite Eight, meanwhile, as they came up short in their title defense. After announcing she would not return to college next year, the Tigers star tuned in to the title game.
Sharing her thoughts on social media throughout the game, Reese had plenty to say. She began by alluding to the officiating, posting: "i see how this game is about to go smh." on X.

Minutes later, she quoted WNBA player Natasha Cloud, who remarked: "I’m trying to refrain from tweeting about some of these calls." Reese shared her frustration, replying: "i’ve typed up so many things and just hit delete about 6 times already."
As an aside, she also shared: "unrelated topic: hannah stuelke is so pretty!" regarding Iowa's sophomore forward. But the real praise was reserved for Johnson.
"i see you BOOKIESSSS @HollywoodRaven," Reese posted after the South Carolina player stole the ball from Clark with under 12 seconds remaining in the first half. The Gamecocks had a one-point lead at the time, but forcing the turnover with Clark bringing the ball up past halfway first stopped Iowa from tying or taking the lead.

Then, the Atlanta native completed the crucial play by maintaining control of the ball, holding off Clark on her back before separating and laying the ball up and in. Those were the only points Johnson scored in the game. But she had a game-high four steals and two big blocks.
South Carolina is the 10th-ever undefeated NCAA women's basketball team - a feat head coach Dawn Staley said she never saw coming based on preseason workouts last summer.

I'm gonna support them and start watching the WNBA and buy their jersey.

So, if we want them ladies to get more money, we gotta watch them and buy their jerseys for support.
I'm a Lakers fans so I've been rooting for the Sparks for a while and watching the WNBA but never supported financially. Gonna buy a jersey to support. Mystics are the closest team to me and that's almost 2 hours away so I don't know about going to any games.

Yeah, it's only right.

With more talent these young ladies in college getting drafted to the pros could soon put the WNBA on the map to get more people watching it.

Also the WNBA draft had the highest ratings ever since 2004.

I really never had a WNBA team to cheer for though until now.
