shit was close to a masterpiece…. I just finished the first season. You look at the art style and the first episode and you would think it’s going to be ass… but man I ended up watching the entire first season in a day.

like previously said… you CAN NoT let the art fool you. I was the same way and by the end of the story. I was like Holy shit this is amazing. That’s the purpose of the anime.. the art and the beginning of the story make you believe that it’s one thing but it’s not…
I'm not interested in sticking around to find out if something will turn out well if it's shitty in the beginning. In this situation, there's a million other anime with better artwork and storyline to watch.
I hear you but I'm just telling you... It's an outstanding anime.... With a fantastic protagonist.
I ignored it for months because of the Art Style .. but decided to finally watch it because it was on so many top 10 lists..
The animation in the fight scenes are just beautifully done.
I'm still pissed at myself for ignoring One Piece because I didn't like the animation when it first started and now I'm so behind that there is no possible chance I'll ever watch it.
It took me eight months to catch up in the series but it was worth it. A lot of people dismiss it because it has a lot of comedic moments,the world is huge and it has a lot of episodes.
I figured you would eventually come in and back me up on this ....
I loved how outside of the Protagonist .... everybody lived in a Shade of Gray. Like Old' Boys father has to go down as one of the worst Anime Fathers of all time.... but damnit when the season was over I was like damn...
Queen Hiling might be one of my favorite anime characters .... You talk about a character the ends up playing 100% against expectations.
Nah, the shit's as visually unappealing as One Piece.
The visuals for One Piece turned me off for a long time as well. I binged most of the episodes & enjoyed it for a while. The world is rich & devil fruits is an interesting anime "power". But I stopped watching the anime & now all I do is skim the manga. My issue with the series is Luffy. His plot armor (race to be pirate king) is so thick it's become uninteresting. Some shone protagonist exist with a golden horseshoe up their asses (Naruto). But Luffy is on a whole new level( or old level since he's older). He has trained once in the entire series to attain Haki from King Rayleigh. Aside from that he fights & defeats characters that should be leagues above him through constant in-fight power ups. It's dull. Haki only was created to nerf logia devil fruit users. And despite being younger & far less skilled, Luffy's haki has smashed supposed characters who were dominating during Roger's time. His latest power up is just ridiculous. Any L Luffy has taken has been single shot non-fights. When he gets into a prolonged battle he is undefeated. Rant over.
What about Sanji, dude was trapped on a island with trannies and came back with new abilities. I need to catch up on One piece though I heard Luffy's new power up is cool.
The other Strawhat Pirates are more ancillary. They exist to take on the lieutenants of whatever crew they are fighting. Sanji spending years running from trannies is hilarious though.
Zoro is definitely the hardest working Strawhat.
I read the manga just to see in 2050 (maybe) how the series will end. Hopefully One Piece fans have better luck in seeing the conclusion than Berserk fans.
Since Luffy has awakened his devil fruit, this should be his final power up. $100 dollars it won't be.
