Anthony Edwards = FUCK THEM KIDS! paid $1,080,000 in child support all at once

Bitch niggah we are celebrating men's rights. So shut your bitch made ass up.
Right, but some of these fools be celebrating this single mother shit and he's one of them. Most of these Kats on this board wasn't raised in 2 family households and it shows. I've heard that single family is better than 2 parent households which is further from the truth..

Yup, just like that!

I don't even think you can do that. There's no lump sum one time child support options. It's set-up to be linked with however much the parent is making and that can go up or go down over the years depending on the amount the parent makes. It sounds like he probably calculated his CS for 18 years and just put that aside in an account or something(Which is smart). You can pay up early in some cases(Earthquake the comedian comes to mind) like a few months or maybe a year in advance, but I doubt he just slap down 18 years and call it a day. I could be wrong though.

PS, $5000 a month is a goddamn steal for what he makes. Nigga probably got car payments higher than that.
Then don't take the deal. No one is holding a gun to her head. She decided she wanted 18 years of support in a lump sum, she wasn't coerced into taking this deal. She's going to have to convince a judge that the contract she willingly signed was unfair even though she signed a contract saying she knew what she was doing. Whoever drew up the contract for him has made sure there's wording in the contract that prevents her from coming back later for more money, not saying she won't try but it's not going to be as simple as he made more money on his second contract so he must pay me more.

I thought Earthquake paid his off like 5 years in advance. This the move BTW, if you come into some money that is not part of the calculation. Like if you inherit a bunch of money.

5,000 a month is only 60,000 a year. With no inflation adjustment and legit needs for the kids, like education, that's not really a lot of money.
It's enough to take care of the child's basic needs for 18 years especially if the mother is working but someone else will knock her up.

Sidenote: if there were ever a firm to represent just child support cases, they would always be busy.

Man, if I were in the NBA, I'd get me a vasectomy and not tell anyone. And sit back and wait for a hoe to claim I got her pregnant.
This here. The gold diggers would be giving it their all, trying to get every drop. Could pull this off for multiple months while they are thinking it’s them.

He saves money this way. He doesn't have to deal with the women or her family.
That's what people keep forgetting or refuse to acknownledge that fact. She's gonna be a problem for him for 18 years which he doesn't want to deal with which is why he rather pay her that lump sum to leave.

There's a lot of dudes who want to be a father to their child but the mother will make shit difficult for them to be the father they want to be.

People quick to call men deadbeat but turn a blind eye when it comes to women being a deadbeat as well.

Yep and then take the kid to every doctor she can trying to find something wrong with the child so she can get some more money, chick gonna be at court like “the doctor said little AJ is dyslexic I need another $10k a month for treatments“ :hmm:
It takes a lot of time and energy to raise a child and many sacrifices. I am not going to shit on her if she raising the kid by herself.

Just being able to take a break or do something as simple as go to the grocery store is challenging with you kids. Plus when you are tired you have to still go to all their activities ain’t easy.

YEP!!

That was smart on his part. Cause once she agreed to that, she can no longer amend the payment amount she was getting.

That MIL was a drop in the bucket to Ant for real.
As men you pay child support so that your child can live a similar lifestyle as you. She agreed to chump change so she was not trying to get over on him. He would be stupid not to help out if needed

I would think he would help out more than what's required.

At least I would hope so.

I agree. It's just folks were acting like she was getting generational wealth money, which was hardly the case.

For a person that just signed a $200+ million dollar contract, that number is crazy low. I’m not rooting for child support by any means but I know dudes making $80k a year and their percentage of child support is much higher. Matter of fact some celebs child support amounts that have been publicized were WAY more than that and he makes more than some of them.

What I really want to know is, how he finesse that?

That's because dudes don't have a good lawyer to help them get a lower amount for child support. But women shouldn't have power to say they want more money for child support using it for themselves as well.

ATTORNEY lol

A great attorney is very much worth the fees you pay them.

Yeah that's crazy low!

He's got a couple of new BM's who tried to finesse him. They tried to file child support documents in California and New York to get more money but he said "Naw nigga, that baby was had in Georgia and we need dem child support laws"! :roflmao:

Most of these athletes have great attorneys, they still end up paying 10's of thousands of dollars a month.

Everyone wants to know how AE did it though.

And if they didn’t have one they would be paying even more, just part of the game, but no black man should deal with the court system or work issues without an attorney. Mofos move different they know you have representation.

She says yall broke and on section 8

This is coming from a dusty bitch who needs child support money and would come back for more to support her lifestyle as well because of her getting pregnant by a millionaire NBA player when she should be getting a job and using that child support money for the child.

You know that's not a bad move for Ant.

Inflation would hurt the value of the money later so she definitely would ask for more..... but now if she sets up a decent annuity /investment system..... even a modest return of 2% would gain $20k a year X 18 years = an extra $360K
