Damn, how the hell did I miss this thread. Squash Vine Borer (the Notorious SVB) got to my Zucchini plants this year      . I call myself using organic, non bee harming pesticides.

Thinking of starting a garden in the backyard with the wife. Anyone in here garden? What do you plant?

Looking to plant something that will bloom in the summer.
Yeah...just put it into action this year.

2015 was the first year I tried since 1999 and it was a disaster. I gave up way too easily, looking back.

This summer, I mustered up the courage and just stuck seeds and plants in the ground.

Tomatoes, peppers, squash, cucumbers, zucchini, collards, sweet potatoes, basil, mint, spearmint, kale, pineapple ground cherries, and melonson deck right now, since March.

I don't even know if we can garden this year. If covid-19 is Airborne, will I be ingesting the virus with every tomato?

That said, I bought praying mantis egg cases with the stick still on it from Arbico organics. I asked for them with the stick attacked, That way you can tie it to the plants in your yard or garden. I got 50 egg cases for $100. Each egg case has 200 babies, but when they're small it's a high attrition rate while they are small (birds, spiders).

I bought them last week and they arrived in a day. They will reduce all bugs that tester your garden in your yard from mosquitoes to garden insects

they eat each other too. I had a few in my front yard and watched a baby hunt for awhile but this fat ass lizard ate him. I may kill his ass. He’s getting bigger and bigger. Mf just inhaling everything.

Good site to buy bulbs

colorblends.com

Placed my order today to lock down the bulbs that I want. You can select when you want them shipped. I selected late October.

I can't fuck with Home depot this year.

Squirrels started fucking up my tomatoes... would sit on the brick post... eat a third of one and leave the rest.... I just stopped planting them.... then they started doing a number on all my plants planted in pots around the front of my crib...digging them up....eating others....even when I said fuck it this year and last year and planted nothing ... they still dig in the pots.... tried some shit that was supposed to irritate their noses when they poked in it..... same story... I miss having flowers planted everywhere.... :hmm:

I never had major issues with squirrels in the past, but like you, squirrels completely demolished all hopes and dreams in my garden. From my decoratives to my veggies, they were pulling and digging shit up both in the ground and pots. Pots would just look like a bomb exploded, dirt everywhere, motherfuckers. So, I got this shit and put it in the pots, toward the tail end of the summer, it appeared to work in the pots, I will get some more and put it on the ground and this year I have to put a cage around my shit, I never had to before. And I'm getting the fucking air rifle ready to punish this litle niggas. Thigh shots, I'm gonna make 'em hurt, the little bitches.

It does wear out over time, so you have to replenish and its not exactly cheap. It irritated my nose, they put some cayenne or something in it, has a mild skunky and spicy smell.

My first gardening project of 2021. Gonna turn this area into a gardening spot. Build a garden wall maybe a foot high that runs along entire fence. Still debating how far into the grass I should go.

Already got the plants ready to go.

Lawn is also coming out of dormancy. As soon as it warms up into the 80s, I'm gonna drop a ton of Milorganite to kick my lawn season off.

This is a good channel for tight spaces.

I want to rip up my front lawn and do something like this.

Thanks to the person who posted the squirrel repellant. Those bastard snatched up all my peaches and passionfruit.
