Time to find our next 10x+ bagger.

Let's start doing some due diligence into what stocks have future catalysts.

If you have expertise in a sector, that would be a great place for you to start.

In general you gotta figure it's something that's going to benefit tremendously on the upcoming POTUS administration.

Supposedly there's some talk of SpaceX going IPO.

Notes:

  • Up and coming sector / industry
  • Company has a lead or better product than competitors (moat)
  • Doesn't have to be profitable yet, but should have decent earnings and not drowning in debt
  • Could be down from all time highs, but company is stable
  • No meme stocks

Two that I liked D-Wave Quantum Inc QBTS and Archer /ACHR

I like his thought process on how he chooses spec plays. For me, no current revenue and potential growth are very important factors. If they can't offset their R&D, all of their funding will come in the form of offerings. The size and frequency of offerings may affect investor confidence.

I'd also sit in on earnings calls and watch interviews with the CEO to get a feel for his/her vision for the company.

I wonder why this doesn’t get discussed more?

That's a good question. It also reminds me that I need to re-add their podcasts into the rotation more. I've listened to them on and off in recent years, but always liked the assortment of topics / knowledge on Planet Money, and The Indicator from Planet Money ... both from NPR.

Planet Money episodes are longer ... whereas The Indicator episodes are shorter & you can add a bunch of them in a playlist rotation.
