Humanoid Robots Being Mass Produced in China

China disclosed its bold plans to mass-produce "advanced level" humanoid robots by 2025. The U.S. has also been pushing the development of humanoid robots, with Tesla showcasing the latest iteration of its own bot at the We, Robot event in October. It now seems the U.S. is in a race against China to be the first country with humanoid robots available for commercial use.

These Humanoid Robots Can Clean Your Home

Neo is a humanoid robot that was built to do the ongoing tasks people might find annoying. Neo's skills are being tested inside Norwegian homes. Standing at 5-feet-6-inches tall, and weighing in at 60 pounds, this robot can walk or even run, depending on how urgent the task is. Even if you had a Neo at home, you aren't released from doing all of your chores yet. Neo learns by watching people. With Neo doing all of our dirty work, thinking and creativity could be left to us.

The CEO of this company did an AMA on Reddit. He explained that these ads were for shock value and that there are no plans to replace human jobs. He also said no AI was used for the ads. Personally, I don't believe him but just relaying the info. IMO AI will continue to replace most jobs. First research, legal, and knowledge work, then artistic jobs, then labor intensive jobs, and finally skilled labor jobs. I anticipate massive profit increases for companies followed by increased business taxes for universal basic income.
