I dont think you needed him, if he stays healthy a great addition.
The regular season and the post season are 2 different animals.
Phils live and die by the HR and great pitching wins post season games.
They dont play small or manufactured ball. They swing for the fences instead of generating runs.

Yes we did needed him because our bullpen has been shitty las season.

Zack wheeler and Aaaron nola was good at pitching until his power declined and the reliver pitchers after them just couldn't get the job done to close the game.
Having Luzardo would be a great addition to the team which could help the phillies end games having guys who can pitch with a strong arm.

When you have good pitchers who can finish the game, it helps the batters not have to go back out there to try to save the game or end it.

I hated when they wanted to try to get homeruns instead of just hitting the ball to run up the score to get on bases. If the phillies can concentrate on hitting the ball to generate runs instead of HR's they will be dangerous and give a lot of teams problems.

They will be a contender, I will give you that.
You got a tough division with Atl and NY, getting Schwarber strike out ass out the lead off would be a big improvement.

Your right. Getting more starting pitching is great. But the Phillies have to make more contact. Can't rely on the homerun.

MLB bans two Yankees fans who interfered with Dodgers' Betts

play

  • ESPN News Services

NEW YORK -- Major League Baseball has banned two fans who interfered with Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts during a World Series game at Yankee Stadium from attending games at big league ballparks.

The league sent a letter to Austin Capobianco and John P. Hansen this week informing them of the decision.

"On Oct. 29, 2024, during Game 4 of the World Series at Yankee Stadium, you interfered with play by intentionally and forcefully grabbing a player. Your conduct posed a serious risk to the health and safety of the player and went far over the line of acceptable fan behavior," said the letter, the contents of which were first reported by the New York Post and later obtained by The Associated Press.

"Based on your conduct, Major League Baseball is banning you indefinitely from all MLB stadiums, offices, and other facilities," the letter said. "You are also hereby banned indefinitely from attending any events sponsored by or associated with MLB. Please be advised that if you are discovered at any MLB property or event, you will be removed from the premises and subject to arrest for trespass."

MLB has previously issued league-wide bans for fans who trespass on the field or threaten baseball personnel. A fan who approached Atlanta Braves star Ronald Acuna Jr. at Colorado's Coors Field in 2023 received a similar ban.

Capobianco and Hansen were ejected from the game on Oct. 29 and banned from Game 5 the following night.

Betts leaped at the retaining wall in foul territory and caught Gleyber Torres' pop fly in the first inning, but a fan in the first row with a gray Yankees road jersey grabbed Betts' glove with both hands and pulled the ball out. Another fan grabbed Betts' bare hand.
The Yankees at the time called the behavior "egregious and unacceptable."

The team said Friday the two fans MLB banned were not season ticket holders. The Post reported Friday that the person who is the season ticket holder was not at the game and will be allowed to keep them.

I'm confused?

When the Yankees spend money?

Its EVIL EMPIRE

but what about the Dodgers and the Padres etc?

Is this what Drake felt like?
Hold on now...

The Yankees & the Dodgers, all they do is buy they way into championships. Most of they fans couldn't name 10 players not currently on the team. Evil Empire shit, for real.

But the Padres finally had an owner that was willing to get some talent in Petco. Before that, we usually have to trade half of our farm system to compete every 5-6 years or so. How is that an evil empire?

And now they about to fuck it all up....again!! But that's a conversation for another time....
