Of course,they used this situation to get the anti-lynching bill to pass. I read that the bill was pretty much dead and when this situation happened,they secretly put in LGBT language in the bill and it passed.....The bill pretty much give the gay community federal protective status...

she wasn't deflecting anything. she was responding to the USA TODAY report. She was calling out the paper for bringing up your very complaints about race.
as to the police, those same tactics were used about Mike Brown, Eric Gardner, Travon Martin, etc. We talked about this type of thing extensively in the Botham Shem Jean thread. In this particular case, the cops weren't involved with the crime, so it comes off as a little more innocent so to speak. However, the police have a bad habit of spoon feeding misinformation and the media accepts everything they say as truth. I mean we are talking about chicago pd, which as we all know has a really bad policing problem to say the least.
