Bernard Madoff’s son Mark was found dead in his SoHo apartment this morning, sources said.

Officers were called to 158 Mercer Street to respond to a report that Mark Madoff was hanging in his apartment.

He was found at 7:30 a.m. by his father-in-law, said police sources.

There was no note, the sources said.

The younger Madoff, 46, had been "unalterably bitter" over his father’s deception, a spokesman told the Wall Street Journal recently.

Mark Madoff and his brother, Andrew, were sued this week by Irving Picard, the court-appointed trustee recovering assets for the victims of Bernard Madoff’s $65 billion Ponzi scheme.

Isnt this like the second suicide out of the madoff camp. If I remember his number 2 guy was found at the bottom of his pool in Palm Beach some months back...you steal that type of money, not all of it was bound to be from clean sources...come to think of it another inmate beat the brakes of madoff too...

i just read my saturday morning wsj and barron's magazines just a few minutes ago and this pops up...there were a lot of news articles about the madoffs this weekend because it's the 2 yr anniversary of the scheme collapsing...many stories about the victims in the paper this weekend...i wonder if this was the breaking point for the son. apparently the son was getting into scraps on the street with ex-employees of the firm that were owed money (i forget which one)

Even if he was innocent the Madoff name is just like the last name Hitler is, forever tainted. He was never going to live it down.
 
(1) It was impossible for him not to know the business he was working in was a Ponzi scheme.


(2) There was a lot of money lost. A number of Israel and Jewish funds were invested in Madoff. That his death happened on the 2 years anniversary of his father's arrest.

I would not be surprised if he got visited by a mechanic. :smh:

you are a little off with the comparison, Hitler has many fans dont fool yourself, this media made madoff into one of the most hated men that ever existed..

the truth of the matter is madoff aint doing nothing different than typical banker everyday tactics...

the whole banking system is one big fucking scheme... its incredible how the public was so quick to villify madoff as though they lost money too:lol:

but ignore the feds who are doin the same gotdamn thing, but the only difference is unlike madoff what they do directly effects you..

how is the federal reserve in charge of printing u.s money, and they are not even a part of the u.s govt???
