Changing Faces and Brownstone.

Some of the groups you mentioned are considered 1st tier by some because of their popularity.

Blackgirl shits on them all....only En Vogue had better vocalists. And they were fine as hell
Have no idea why they only did that one album (plus a Christmas album)

Wish I had the live version of this...it was BETTER than the studio version

plus they're the reason why I found this site....searching for them on Altavista brought me here

Destiny Child, TLC, and En Vogue are top tier not only by popularity but...also by the number of records sold. Those other group only got some hood love.

SWV is right in the top 10 of all time best selling girl groups right along w/ TLC and En Vogue. It's all subjective, but I honestly wouldn't consider them 2nd tier. They had a damn good run.

lots to choose from. Depends on what you choose to evaluate 'em on. I liked Brownstone best, and if they had a few more hits they would have been top tier easy. I liked Kut Close <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/cP4yAnbtDZE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
and Total for some of their videos, and I would put Jade up there for their "don't walk away" vid, one of my all time faves. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/wZ9HG0nGe-g" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Thanks fro the flashbacks...

A couple of points...

1. SWV cannot be considered 2nd Tier.
2. Total was probably the total marketing package with the most support from an industry perspective (meaning they had big people behind them and were probably the most primed to succeed) but Brownstone was in my opinion the most talented of the 2nd Tier groups.

i don't know nor care.

i've hated popular r&b music since 1990.

ALL of the girl groups from the 50', 60's, 70's and 80's totally shit on those hoes from the 90's and currently.
