Pete actually knows what he is talking about if he gets a chance to actually talk.

It was embarrassing. The entire 3 hours he didn't understand when to follow up, shut up or rally up. He constantly cut people off, get lost in his own questions, ask bad questions, not listen...
Michael? As much as the pause game is done? That's what she said is doner. Please stop.
That's one thing I learned back in my 20s ... gotta pick your spots in conversation. Had a bad habit of rushing to get my thoughts in (and talking fast) ... learned to slow down and listen. If I cut people off these days, I just say "Sorry, go ahead ..."
Listening to podcasts ... some of the best interviewers are great at just asking the question & letting the guest talk. Then choosing parts of the reply to further the conversation ...

One of my favorites is Sean Fennessey from The Ringer. He's a movie buff and co-hosts The Big Picture. I don't particularly care for his co-host Amanda, but he himself is a movie buff and knows his stuff.
Some of the best episodes from previous years is when he'd have a notable director on & let them go. Ask the question and let them give long responses.
I thought to myself - "He gets it ... people are listening for the key guest. He asks the question and gets out of the way."

Co sign Sean is very very good
His opinions on films can be... questionable at times but he is super knowledgeable.
Agreed. I respect his smarts. He sees a few hundred movies annually, and knows his stuff.
I got some good laughs when he'd tell the stories about latenight movie watching in his man cave in the garage, if I remember correctly. Co-host was like - "Like a serial killer", haha.

One of my brothers best friends growing up was named Yakub. Him and his brother were Polish-Japanese, and had 2 of the coolest first and last names I've ever heard of.
One of my dad's best friends from childhood to this day is Chinese-Canadian. Another great first name ... Brewster!
