Their cheap prices on paper towel, toilet paper, baby wipes alone says this a bullshit statement

Supermarkets around my way chargjng 3.50 per roll for bounty.. yet I can get a 12 pack at times from Costco for $20 when on sale.. that's literally a $22 difference if you go by a dozen

What you mean it’s a BS statement? We saying the same thing.

I’m a Costco bro. I don’t shop anywhere else other than Costco for the cheap prices, but also how they treat their employees.

I believe it’s the best store in America.

Costco (COST) reported mixed results for its fiscal second quarter as shoppers remain cautious about their spending.
Adjusted earnings per share came in at $4.02, compared to Bloomberg consensus estimates of $4.11. Revenue of $63.72 billion slightly beat expectations of $63.01 billion.
Overall same store sales jumped 6.80%, versus the 6.38% expected, though it fell short of estimates in Canada and other international markets. Same store sales excluding fuel and foreign exchange impact is up 9.1%.

"Our operations and merchandising teams did a fantastic job in the quarter, delivering strong operating results despite the uncertain macro environment," CEO Ron Vachris said on its earnings call.
Costco shares are slightly falling in after-market trading after releasing the results. Year to date, its stock is up over 12%, outpacing the nearly 3% decline for the S&P 500 (^GSPC).
Shares of its peers are also outperforming as consumers seek the biggest bang for their buck. BJ's (BJ) shares are up 28% this year, while Walmart (WMT), which owns Sam's Club, is up 5.6%.
On Thursday morning, BJ's beat the Street's expectations on earnings and same store sales, with a slight miss on revenue. CEO Robert Eddy attributed the results to strength in traffic, increased basket sizes, and strong member engagement.
Shares of Kroger (KR), which is facing a CEO change and the fallout from its failed merger with Albertsons (ACI), is still up nearly 3% year-to-date.
It reported fourth quarter earnings that matched estimates, with a beat on same store sales and a slight miss on revenue. Digital sales fueled the growth, followed by its delivery network and health and wellness.

But how long does it take to use a dozen rolls of paper towel? I go through one every 2-3 months.

Get a $40 bidet hook up and you'll never need baby wipes again.

Baby wipes ain’t just for your ass,.. also do you go out? Female company? People also have children(baby wipes)… dozen roll of toilet paper for you would accumulate to 104-156 bucks a yr through Costco.. if you went to the supermarket that would be 164-252 a yr 60-96 bucks saved( it’s more saved if you cop them when they on sale for 20 a dozen)

I've raised four children so I understand that baby wipes can be used for babies. As for toilet paper, cleaning with a bidet is far more thorough and hygienic. I go through one roll of toilet paper a month and that's just the dry off. If I got the one with The air dry attachment I wouldn't need any at all.

And that is the last I'll speak on my bathroom habits.

My point is selling wholesale products to retail customers is a bit of a trap. Sure, you'll save money at the cash register, but now you need a bigger vehicle to get your savings home.

Next you need a place to store it. It's cool if you already own a McMansion, but it's not practical to stuff a year's supply of bottled water in the living room of a downtown apartment.

How many times have you impulse purchased a bulk food item at Costco, got home and discovered you didn't like it?

How many people have you seen buy a 3-month supply of "cheap" protein powder and stop going to the gym 3 months later?

How about folks who make massive Costco purchases on their credit card and end up paying interest months before they've even opened all the products?

Even worse, how many folks have you seen by a month's supply of junk or convenience food and scarf it all down in 2 weeks?

You could blame the customer's poor decisions. You could blame Costco for enabling our worst behaviors. Either way those savings have a massive cost.

If you don't like something at Costco you can easily return it and get fully refunded ice done this several times.. Costco has a bunch of stuff that's not in bulk like electronics, appliance, clothes, things you need around the house, etc.. every person I know that need things in bulk love that place cause it's extremely cheaper than most places like diapers, laundry detergent, milk, eggs, etc .my boy has a family of 4 and I've literally saved him hundreds to thousands per month by introducing him to Costco.. "you" have a problem with Costco not everyone else there's a reason they have a 94 percent resign membership each yr

I used to shop at Costco and hated it, but that's not the point. The real issue is the more you buy of a product the harder it is to examine and change your habits. Without that change nothing improves.

For instance, The COVID toilet paper shortage made me install a bidet. Running out of milk taught me I was lactose intolerant. Limited space for laundry detergent taught me the value of Tide pods.

I could have saved a massive amount buying a Costco supply of Gillette 5 in 1 shaving cartridges. Instead, I discovered safety razors and saved even more! Recently I've switched from eggs to tofu scrambles.

These shortages, forced or chosen, often teach us to live better lives. Buying from Costco robs us of that experience.

How does it rob people of experience if most of their products are cheaper than local supermarkets and grocery stores.. how does it rob people who need bulk things? Tell me when is it smarter to pay higher prices for less stuff.. some people will drink a bottle a water a day at $1 a bottle.. a 40 pack cost less than $7.. is it smarter to pay $365 a yr for a bottle a day or less than $70 for more bottles.. do you think it’s smarter to pay $295 extra? Let’s see explain how Costco is robbing you of that experience.. how bout people that eat fruits and veggies is it smarter to pay double or triple the price at your local supermarket than save 50-67 percent.. only big bizz enjoys people paying more for less

some stores will charge you $4 or more for 3 rubbers when you can get a pack of 40 for 10-14 bucks.. so the price of 9 rubbers at the store i couldve got 31 more condoms at costco.. I guess Costco robbing me of stds since I’ll have more protection to not run out and make stupid horny decisions or unwanted babies.. damn you Costco from preventing me from not burning or have baby mama drama

Bought Fridge, Dishwasher, Microwave and cooktop stove at Costco in their Labor Day sale last year. No interest credit card until March 2026. Installation, Haul Away, cleanup, delivery all included in the price. Got a manufacturer rebate of 400 and costco cash back from using their credit card.

It's the best place I've found to buy new appliances or do major purchases.

If the option doesn't include drinking water from your own faucet then it's not worth answering.
White people if you don’t agree with their logic no matter how dumb it is they don’t want to converse with you.. I understand think you for proving that theory once again

But but the white boy said Costco wasn’t a good place even though it saved you money had a great deal and probably had the best option out there.. Costco is not a good place according to blue eyes (white people logic)

My whole point was reconsidering whether you need a product in the first place, not whether you can get it cheaper at Costco. By taking that option off the table you show that you didn't want to converse with me.

That said, paying $7 (plus tax and recycling fees) for something you can get damn near free out of your own tap is as dumb and illogical as it gets. Cut the price in half and it's still dumb.

nah making outlandish excuses on why you shouldn’t get a Costco membership shows you didn’t want to have meaningful conversation.. cheaper prices, finding products in bulk are the reasons why you would get a membership period and who the demographic it is catered to.. you going all out your way to say it’s bad and making shit up or obviously not knowing how to use those perks was a “you “problem.. “you” said what if someone got a product and didn’t like it( well you can easily return it and get reimbursed fully), “ you “ said something about buying protein powder and not using it( well how many products/ services people buy in general that they don’t use? Should we eliminate every single service/product that exist cause some consumer didn’t fully use it? Shall we eliminate gyms, swimming pools, exercise equipment, medincine, etc cause a small percentage of people don’t fully utilize a service or product is available)..”you” posted those ridiculous statements in order to discredit or not use Costco.. I don’t know anybody that decided to get a membership cause you can get a big size protein powder, that’s never been the selling point of a Costco membership.. I never told a person with a family or person with young kids hey guy you know they got a large size of protein powder and they go oh shit sign me up I’ve been looking to get a membership at a place that sells large size protein powder.. but in “your” world that obviously a thing

I don't think any of that should be eliminated, including Costco. I just want people to reconsider whether or not those savings are worth it. Saving money at checkout doesn't tell the whole story.
