In a two-hour speech at the “Faith and Freedom” conference on Friday, Trump talked at length about pressuring Mike Pence to reject electoral votes cast for Joe Biden on Jan. 6, 2021.

“I said to Mike, ‘If you do this, you can be Thomas Jefferson,’” Trump told the crowd. “And then after it all went down, I looked at him one day and I said, ‘Mike, I hate to say this, but you’re no Thomas Jefferson.’”

It was Trump’s first speech since a series of riveting hearings by the House select committee investigating last year’s insurrection.

“From a prosecutor’s standpoint, let him keep talking,” Conway told host Katie Phang on MSNBC. “He basically is still admitting that he put pressure on [former Vice President] Mike Pence to do something that was completely illegal.”

“Somebody should tell him that he has the right to remain silent and anything he says can and will be used against him in a court of law,”
added Conway, husband of former Trump senior adviser Kellyanne Conway.

Trump also said he would “very, very seriously” consider granting pardons to defendants who stormed the Capitol if he’s reelected. That could be seen as an attempt at “witness tampering” if he had that power now, said Conway.

That’s what he “did a few years ago ... dangling pardons to people,” Conway noted.

Two organizers told Rolling Stone that they met with “close to dozen” Republican members of Congress or their staff while planning protests against the 2020 presidential election results aimed at keeping former President Donald Trump in power, according to the story.

Along with Boebert, those organizers said they communicated with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.), Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.), Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-N.C.), Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.), and Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas).
Additionally, Rolling Stone noted that it has evidence that Boebert was in contact with those two organizers on Jan. 6.
Boebert responded to the article on Monday afternoon by tweeting a statement.

“I had no role in the planning or execution of any event that took place at the Capitol or anywhere in Washington, D.C. on January 6th. With the help of my staff, I accepted an invitation to speak at one event but ultimately I did not speak at any events on January 6th. Once again, the media is acting as a messaging tool for the radical left,” it reads in part. Boebert was slated to speak at the Wild Protest on Jan. 6
.

Boebert’s involvement with the insurrection has been under scrutiny since the aftermath of that day. Critics specifically point to tweets she sent on Jan. 6, notably two that she sent minutes after the Capitol was breached that relayed information about where members of Congress were, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Earlier that morning, Boebert tweeted “Today is 1776.”

Texas CAN NOT secede from the USA (Notice I did not say 'will not', but rather said CAN NOT secede), because there is NO LEGAL MECHANISM under the US Constitution for a state to leave the union. Any law or referendum the Texas republicans pass stating that the state will secede is automatically null and void under the US Constitition. Put simply, the power to leave the union (other than by military force) simply does not exist, and the Texas republicans do not have the military force needed to take and hold this teritory.
