It's not that strange.
EVs are hard to find at traditional car rental places. When you do they cost almost twice as much as a regular sedan. Practically every other car on Turo is an EV.
Also, with Turo you rarely meet the host. Just send them a picture of your driver's license and open the car with the app. That's at least one less witness to worry about.

3. a terrorist attack and planned attack during the busiest night of a major city and weeks before the biggest sporting event is to take place in the same city
In fact, all of those things happened in the last 6 months.
I am not a conspiracy theorist but I sense some major upheaval happening in the next few years. People are fed up and I am not talking about just in the US.

This is Shamsud Dean Jabbar, 42. He died, likely shot by one of the police officers he opened fire on after running over people. The FBI is investigating whether he had accomplices and where he got a pickup truck with Texas plates.
Eyewitnesses told CNN that before New Year's Eve, steel barriers were not installed on Bourbon Street that could have prevented the driver of the pickup truck from driving into the crowd. Barriers were installed there in 2017 after a similar terrorist attack in Nice and a series of drunken accidents in the French Quarter of New Orleans itself; they can be raised and strengthened, but this was not done. In addition, the media noted that the pickup truck had a flag of ISIS.
