For those not interested in propaganda, here’s an update in the Ukraine Russian war.
After about a year and a half of fighting, close to $300B in US tax dollars and more than 300,000 Ukrainians killed, Russia controls about a third of the country.
Ukraine launched a major offensive over the last two weeks, which doesn’t seem to be successful.
Ukraine has been able to fight hard, and killed a lot of Russian troops (as you can see by the Twitter memes above). Unfortunately there are insurmountable odds against them winning.
Hawks in the US, and people who work in the military industrial complex continue to push the need to continue pouring money into this war effort. They reason that by doing so, it to pin down Russia in a war and weakens them. It also makes billions for defense contractors.
They are right, the war is weakening Russia. But it also weakens the US.
While all this is going on, China is sitting back and watching. Each day the US and Russia continue this proxy war, China get stronger.
And as for us Black people? Haiti is facing a humanitarian crisis, and the U.S. committed a little more than $100M to them. That’s about .03% of what they gave to save Ukraine.
And lest we all forget, many of the frontline fighters in Ukraine are open Nazis.
