These people were from central PA, near harrisburg and williamsport. They called it pop..

Also the default for "Tea" in the north is "unsweet". Come down to NC giving people unsweet tea when asking for Tea..
Well I'm from the hood, we've always said soda.

I've never really heard nobody say POP, where I'm from.

A lot of these fruit juices are loaded with sugar so they can have that and get their sugar back up. There's more to this story though. This is what created the food desserts in the first place. Putting cheap food in low income areas
Those juices always cost more than soda..that’s the thing the benefits have a minimum amount of money you can spend.. also people not gonna be carrying or can carry juice into any establishment, which is why diabetics also tend to carry pieces of candy with them..so once again eliminating the fact they can’t buy candy or soda can fuck with certain diabetics emergency products they use if their sugar levels drop and they need that shit to jump back up

Yup, shit about to get real and nasty fast with all these dumb ass bills trump wants to get passed.
Well if it finally wakes people up. Then it is for the good because for a long time people have been saying shit like...
"Who's elected president doesn't matter"
"I only vote locally because that has more affect on my life"
"Both parties are the same"
"Voting doesn't matter"

Orange juice.
As I pointed out juices cost more than soda and with limited amounts of money to spend that can be costly budgeting a month worth of groceries.. also you can’t carry or drink juice in any and every establishment it’s why diabetics carry pieces of candy( something they trying to ban) on them… trust I know all about orange juice for diabetics.. my moms a diabetic and I make sure to have some at my crib, her crib, sis crib just in case she stop by..just like I have pieces of candy stashed just in case she stop by.. I’ve had to actually give her juice or pieces of candy various times over the yrs when her sugar was low.. like whip it to her crib and bring her shit cause she woke up and her sugar was low type shit.. many people ain’t fortunate like my mom to have funds and kids who will jump up at any given minute to help them when they situation gets tough..so this is why they need to take things like this into consideration

So simply by candy. Let's not try an make it complicated like because of this people will no longer be able to afford to buy candy.

How the hell have not heard of soda when it is literally advertised as soda? Hell... some brands have the word soda written on the label.

Its pop, there are no white hen pantry out east either, like there are no wawa in the midwest.
No dolly madison, hostess or jays potato chips here, tasty kake and utz potato chips.
Subs are hoagies.

People hate poor people and you see it with SNAP benefits. Imagine telling a group of people who need help that you can buy food with these benefits but you can't buy hot food. For example you can't go into a Costco or any supermarket and buy a rotisserie chicken that would cost anywhere from $5 to $7. What I have a problem with is you could buy that rotisserie chicken and a couple of cans of beans or canned vegetables and that could feed your family for a few days but because it's hot you can't buy it.
Agrees.. crazy thing not every state is the same and some places allow hot food to be purchased in some areas.. also certain places are starting to considering changing the laws to start allowing hot food to be purchased or certain demographics like the elderly or handicap to be allowed to get hot food due to them being incapable of cooking due to their conditions.. I know ny is thinking about changing their laws for certain groups.. also I forget the exact number but it’s over 50 billion dollars I believe of snap benefits purchasing power and lots of big companies have noticed that market and now want to get in on that action so they might start doing things so they can benefitting off snap so possibly pushing for hot foods to be allowed will greatly help their pockets

Why are these people getting benefits? Cause they can’t afford things or they are jobless, poor.. it’s pretty easy when you have money to buy things but when you’re poor we’ll not so simple.. isn’t easier to just not ban candy and soda? Yes it is..there would be no discussion if they weren’t trying to ban it

It's crazy cause the deli by me that I like to get bacon, egg and cheese has a bunch of signs saying no EBT for hot food and it sucks that you can't get yourself some pancakes or a hot sandwich.

Ayo, I was in line at the Kroger gas station the other day, and the guy in front of me paid for his gas with a food stamp card. When did that become a thing?!

So are you telling me that people who receive benefits can't buy anything unless it comes from welfare?
C'mon bruh stop with the nonsense. You know and I know everything bought by people on welfare isn't from welfare funding and candy is one of the cheapest things around. Shit people give candy away for free.

Just buy a box of complete pancakes and add water. That's way cheaper than buying already made pancakes.

It's not meant to be used for convenience.
Candy while it's a sweet treat shouldn't be restricted since it's something a person can put in their mouth, especially if they're a diabetic need something sweet when their sugar is low.

I have a mother and grandmother that are diabetic and need candy from time to time when their sugar are low.

Then buy it for them. Everything doesn't need to be done through the government.

I don't have a problem buying it for them but I still stand on what I said that they shouldn't be telling people what they can and can't buy with food stamps since not everyone has money to buy candy.

You can't ask for help and think you're going to get it your way. It's needs vs wants. If you don't want people telling you how to spend taxpayer's money. Then don't get on welfare.

So, what about handicap people and elders who are on food stamps, you're talking like everyone situation is the same out here who need government to get things because they can't work for themselves nor do they have family to give them money and a lot of other shit.

So, therefore it's pointless talking to you about this shit.

As I said... wants vs needs.
You say not ever situation is the same and I totally agree. Yet people like you try to make extreme cases the situation for everybody across the board.

Yeah, buddy had them republican talking points in the chamber. Like I said. Give it to them, or don't. Muthafuckas act like they taxes bout to drop if they use stamps to buy essentials vs candy and soda. If someone asks for 20 and I give it to them. What I look like trying to parent how they spend it??? Bringing it back around... How they spend their stamps legit has zero impact on me. Taxes gone come out my check regardless.
