I agree with everything you wrote. I think this cat is going to surprise a lot of people in the league. He has the heart and has a motor like A.I. I'm not saying he's going to give you 30 a night like A.I but he will be an all star caliber guard when its said and done. Him and Lamb really carried that team all the way to the championship. Also, let's not forget dude played almost every minute in those 5 straight games to win the big East tournament and balled his ass off. What AI team was ever better/ played at a higher level than the team that Rose is currently leading?

You can play that same game with the other top 3 teams in the eastern conference that year. All four of them (with the exception of P. Pierce and A. Walker)featured a star and a bunch of nobodys. In other words, he took a group of nobodys past a bunch of other teams who were nobodys, then quickly lost in 5 against a quality team.
It's no exaggeration to say the Eastern Conference was a joke back then.
The reason AI's teams all sucked, is because what good player would ever want to play with a black hole like Iverson? They couldn't get him any help for that very reason.
I take nothing away from AI as an individual scorer, and to do what he did at 5'11 165 will never be duplicated, but it doesn't change the facts.
Basically... AI could ball, but too much gets made about his scoring avges and passing lane steals, and not enough about working hard in the offseason so you didnt have to work so hard during it. Not jacking up 30 plus shots a game just because you could. The fact that having a crossover will NEVER be a bigger weapon than a consistent J type shit. AI was never a great player IMO, he was a good scorer, but an inefficient one. AI will go down as one of the most overrated superstars in NBA history. Hood ninjas and females made him the icon he is today, not skill, not Bball IQ, not work ethic. Iverson wasted his talent but not honing it and working on it... Theres a reason no one wanted his ass even though technically he could still ball and belonged in the league. D Rose is a better, more complete player right now than Iverson ever was.

And im not a big AI fan, but none of that negates what he did and how impressive his accomplishments were or just how valuable he was to that franchise and his teams throughout his career in philly. He did far more with far less than Rose ever will. Also, i think the sixers could have done a better job of surrounding him with young shooters and defensive specialists. A 40year old deke was not the business.
