Never heard nobody ever say man I gotta watch the WNBA game or attend on blah blah blah. Ever.
Several years back my cuz was in town to see a chick. She had a daughter that wanted to go to a wnba game. I took them to a dream game. After the game which I believe was the last game of the season they had workers at the exits handing out stacks of tickets to come to the next game. They gave me probably 25 tickets. The next game was a playoff game. The dream went to the finals that year if im not mistaken. I couldn't give the tickets away lol. I talked some of my friends into going. I think I only used 6 of the tickets lol.

Sports betting is legal in a lot more states now. If guys can make money by being familiar with the players/teams, that might cause at least some folks to start watching.

Shit man some of us been on it. That’s how I got into WNBa. The bets props are soft as shit especially early in the season. That’s they only hope is bettors get involved and Clark and Reese bring in fans.

Except that it's far from true and most basketball fans know it.

He's just caught up in the moment.

Kelsey Plum had the record until yesterday, was she the best player ever before Caitlin broke her record?

It’s hard to say on Plum because she nice but she not the best on her team. Her team stacked in WNBA. Clark was a better player than Plum. Clark has NBA range.

It's not hard to say, no one ever said that Plum was the best female player ever. And because Caitlin is now the leading "College" scorer ever she's the best female basketball player ever?

Do you know how foolish that sounds?

A college player that's never won a college championship, never won a professional championship and never even played professional basketball game is called the best female basketball player ever?

That's just foolish and dumb on so many levels and shows the lack of knowledge of Shaq and many others.

It's college though. You can say the same about Sabrina. She's not the best player on her WNBA team, but has her own sneaker and gets more attention than 99% of the WNBA players.

That's why I think it's silly people are outraged by Jay Williams comments, all Caityln Clark has done in college is score points. She hasn't won shit.

Jay Bilas has been saying it, but Lynnette Woodard put up 3,649 points

Why isn't hers the record?

Why isn't hers the record?

Here’s hey which is bs.

Woodard went on to play college basketball with the University of Kansas (KU) in 1978, playing there until 1981 in the AIAW era of college basketball. She was a four-time All-American at KU, and she averaged 26 points per game and scored 3,649 points in total during her four years there, and was the first KU woman to be honored by having her jersey retired. She is the unofficial major college basketball's career women's scoring leader due to the NCAA not recognizing statistics from the AIAW.[2]

The Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) was a college athletics organization in the United States, founded in 1971 to govern women's college competitions in the country and to administer national championships (see AIAW Champions). It evolved out of the "Commission on Intercollegiate Athletics for Women" (CIAW), founded in 1967. The association was one of the biggest advancements for women's athletics on the collegiate level. Throughout the 1970s, the AIAW grew rapidly in membership and influence, in parallel with the national growth of women's sports following the enactment of Title IX.

The AIAW functioned in the equivalent role for college women's programs that the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) had been doing for men's programs. Owing to its own success, the AIAW was in a vulnerable position that precipitated conflicts with the NCAA in the early 1980s. Following a one-year overlap in which both organizations staged women's championships, the AIAW discontinued operation, and most member schools continued their women's athletics programs under the governance of the NCAA.

I don’t get your point. So using your logic Bill Russell has the most rings so he’s the best player of all time? Clark was a better prospect than Plum.

One of the main reasons why I started watching and some of the games are actually good esp if my dog Aja playing lol
I ain’t gonna lie it’s only like two or 3 teams worth watching. I went to Vegas a few years ago and got to watch Aces play for free and I been a fan ever since. They actually are fun to watch. Dallas Wingd the hometown team and they much easier to watch now then when they had Skylar fine ass.

Sabrina nice too she just taking a backseat to Jonquel and Breanna. So she’s another one. My point was though Plum doesn’t get more praise because she ain’t taking 30 shots a game her team stacked and shit she might be the 3rd or 4th best on her team some nights.

I think only certain sports that are intrinsically entertaining with women playing historically it has been tennis, world cup soccer, Olympic gymnastics, track and field and now you can add MMA.

The basketball product is not entertaining because it is a vanilla product. Not as fast, no dunking, alley oops, nothing exciting.

I have no idea what you're talking about and your thinking of my logic is the exact opposite of what I said and am saying.

Based on that post and statement, you simply don't understand.

I'm saying because Caitlin scored the most points "In college" doesn't make her the best player ever. So how would my logic mean that because Bill Russell scored has the most rings that would make him the best player ever?

Save yourself from typing because there's no amount of words you could produce to make that make sense :roflmao:

She's never stepped foot on a professional court and Shaq says that she's the best female basketball player ever?

Again, that's a foolish and uneducated statement. He simply doesn't know women's basketball.

and by vanilla...not dominated by white players

If most of the stars of the WNBA were white and feminine it would get more attention. Heck, Sue Bird, Tarausi and Stewart still got more attention than anyone else.

I m not speaking on race.

Real talk college and WNBA the women's basketball product is intrinsically vanilla based upon the skill level and physical attributes that these women have to be entertaining enough for a casual fan.

Casual is where you make your money

One of the most exciting players to watch and people watch the most in the NBA is Steph Curry, and he doesn't dunk :roflmao:

And a 6'10 player who can damn near touch the rim without jumping and dunking isn't as exciting as you're making it

The NBA has history and the best games are usually about the storylines. People are emotionally invested in the teams and players so the games are then more exciting.

Women's college basketball has it but the WNBA doesn't. Also most NBA games aren't exciting no matter how many alley oops or dunking is in them.

It's Catlyn and that's it on that entire team....Not saying she aint nice cause I think she is, but Aja is someone I saw play in person and she was nice ASF...

She also plays a different position as well.

The women are highly skilled in the WNBA but ain't none of them catching alley's and dunking on other women.

The newer crop of women should bring a different level of excitement to the game.

You literally just made the point that she can’t be the best because she doesn’t have a ring? Am I tripping did you not say that lol?

See this is why context is important. He never said she was the best player ever. Go back and listen to what he actually said.

Yeah I try to catch Aces games alot. Fun team to watch...Black woman is the president, but the team is solid...

I remember talking to Aja's father a few months ago and he was telling me how they take good care of him and his wife whenever they go out...Took them on a tour of the raiders facility and everything....

If I am not mistaken I think they even have a underground subway between the facilities or something like that....

Caitlin does benefit from being able to shoot more than anyone but she also gets more attention then anyone else since she’s the best on her team and I one else worth doubling. I can’t say I agree or disagree with Shaq I’m just saying what he said ain’t that outlandish.

Yeah I didn’t do it because there were signs that Raiders stadium wasn’t far.. it’s wild though when I went think Raiders just got Devonte Adam’s but I seen more Aces jerseys then Raiders. They love them out there.

Nope

Each sport.......repeat each sport has something intrinsic to the sport that makes it exciting to the CASUAL fan in whom you must have backing you to make money.

For Tennis its the volley and the serves - women do that well so its profitable

For soccer its the artistry in goal scoring how they re scored. The world cup also brings casuals due to national pride. Women do this well in soccer.

For MMA its the knock outs and the submissions and domination. Women do this well in MMA.

For Basketball its the speed, pace, dunks and oops. Women physically are at a disadvantage to doing this well the way the regulation court it structured.

I did say that.

You're right, I did think that he said the best female basketball player ever so I was wrong.

Now that that's out of the way, she's not the best female college basketball player ever either :roflmao:

Cheryl Miller, Maya Moore...

My statement still stands. No one said that she was the greatest college player ever until she broke the record, and no one said Plum was the best player ever because she had the record.

Because she wasn't.

Now Caitlin is the greatest scorer in women's NCAA history and the greatest shooter.

But not the best player.
