Che Guevara quotes on black people..

Feeble minded niggas shoulda done that to their Obama memorabilia after he treated them like his children & gave them those numerous father like pep talks.

I'm not anti Obama like you but yea there are definitely some Yes We Can tshirts being used to shine shoes and dust furniture right now.

Some people have/had unrealistic expectations.

thanks for the heads up, what was historically inaccurate about part two of the film?

I thought part 1 was straight.
its as accurate as I know the story to be
its not a good part because you know how the story ends
i didnt watch the 2nd part for a long time because the shit is depressing

It is true that a lot of Nazi escapist went to South-America, including Argentina and Brazil. Most Argentinians are of Italian descent.

This is true. There is also a fair size amount Welsh heritage mixed into their population as well.

Yeah you're right.

I sometimes find myself avoiding watching Malcolm X because I know how it is going to turn out.

i havent watched that movie in years more than 10 at least
same shit with roots and certain other flicks - not interested in rehashing how shit turned out or went down - plus that shit makes me angry
when i was younger i didnt mind being mad but i also didnt realize how it was fucking my life up but now that I do realize I just try to avoid it
i know its not an optimal way of dealing with frustration or anger but it beats wanting to kill assorted people over the most bullshit of perceived slights

Rosewood was the last film that made me unbelievably angry. I was heated for a couple days after viewing it.

Regardless if this is true or not and im inclined to believe he said something along those lines.
che has never meant anything to me before and will not mean anytime to me after its all said and done.

kats is always looking for heroes.

They are concentrated in the south of the country... in the state of Santa Catarina,etc... different world down there..

Anyone know that we have Confederados, or generations deep Confederate Americans living in Brazil that their forefathers fled the US after the Civil War?

now that i continue to watch just to keep me on my toes
that and shit like what went down in jefferson parish after katrina are what u have to be aware of in the south

You should have been. Rosewood was not an isolated incident either, that was how whites got hold of prime land throughout the late 1800's and 1900's.

Rosewood came out when I was in middle school, so yeah I should of been at a complete loss for words and ripe with emotions. I knew next to nothing about lynching during that time of my life. But I can tell you after viewing the film I was rudely indoctrinated to the act.

If anything the entire movie was a much needed eye opener.

while the comments are accurate and i feel good that Assata has a place to lay her head you have to remember that the argument about america's hypocrisy regarding freedom and oppression of blacks has been used alot. it doesnt mean those making the argument have our best interests at heart
soviets were active all over the world but this was more a game of cold war chess than it was about a feel good equality movement

I know the soviets were about economic hegemony and not equal rights for non-europeans. But either the dude loved to be annoyed or he was bat shit crazy to spend his time among folks he had such distaste for. If i dont like a group of people the last thing you see me doing is trying to kick it with them much less put my life in danger to work with them.

Appreciate it. Do you know anything about the book I posted,

The African Dream: The diaries of the Revolutionary War in the Congo

i havent read it.. so i cant tell you its nature. but the book i posted has a chapter dedicated to the attempted revolution in the congo.

edit*
I remember this book. I havent read it as I stated earlier... but I took some pieces from it for a thesis. he is very hard on the conglonese armies lack of discipline and is outspoken about their work ethic and belief in "DAWA" (a sort of magic that they practiced)

I own the book. It's a pretty good read (not as fluid as Motorcycle Diaries though). When people want to call Che racist, they normally take quotes from this book to make it seem like Che's calling ALL black people lazy or unorganized. In fact, he's just talking about the Congolese he was consulting with (not leading as most assume). He thought he was walking into a situation where folks were going to be more disciplined and organized. It was far from that according to Che.

It amazes me how people can find obscure quotes, use them purposely out of context to further their agenda all the while attempting to appear unbiased. Using Che's words about the Congolese troops he camped with about ALL BLACKS is like someone say Nigerian scammers are crooks, then those words being flipped, chopped and skewed to mean all blacks globally are scammers and crooks.

I think you have to look at the times back then when considering Soviet and US issues. It was like global crips vs bloods. If you wanted to exist, you had to have some sort of affiliation with one or the other. People forget that Ho Chi Minh, & Patrice Lumumba both came to the US for help before they sided with the Soviets. If the US was truly the defenders of freedom, they would've sided with Ho Chi Minh over the French in Indochinese matters. They did not, so Ho Chi Minh sought help from the Communists. Same with Lumumba. If the Americans didn't ride with King Leopold and the Belgians when Lumumba sought help, he would've never gone to the Communists for help.

Very similar situation with Cuba. America wanted to continue to pimp Cuba through selected dictators. If they were truly defenders of freedom and democracy, they would've sided with the revolution while trying to convince them to install a democracy. Of course they didn't do that because there was no financial gain to that. So with the US 90 miles off your shore, who do you side with?

This is like people saying Elvis was racist because of a alleged comment. There is so much proof of him not being racist it aint even funny. from being friends with Ali

Public Enemy-fight the power
"Elvis was a hero to most
But he never meant ---- to me you see
Straight up racist that sucker was
Simple and plain"

I there are many stories of him doing admirable things for black people such as buying them new cars. These are people are random people he never knew in his life.
