He was before my time, but my father loved this dude, so he was like hero in our home. I remember his interview discussing how he would intimidate his opponents by getting up slow, after every play, so they they would not know if he was hurt or tired and I adopted that strategy into just about everything I've done... It's sad personally to know he's gone, but it was a privilege to know of this man and the strong image he gave young black men to aspire to be.
