I wish there was more scoring in soccer
I'm sitting here watching this Mexico/Ecuador match like..... :hmm:

True. But soccer is an acquired taste, especially for the American audience. It's about the game within the game, similar to football actually.

It's funny because alot of ppl outside of America make the same complaints about football (boring, not enough action, etc.).

This game is a lot more intense than Mexico/Ecuador, on Sunday
A lot of guys hitting the turf & getting injured & a lot of fouls on both teams
A player from Uruguay had to be carried off on a stretcher
But gawd damn, the refs are so bad tonight !!

Going to ride the bench in Europe wont produce Dawgs either....Lets just be honest.

I think the American system has shown great progress. We went from LandyCake and Wigger Dempsey being our best players, to having a strong athletic team who can give anybody trouble.
I think the dumbest thing Americans do attribute other physical values from other sports to football. The beautiful game doesn't need you to be the most physical, stop trying to coach for physicality, stop micro managing players, let them express themselves. Stop over coaching players. Most academies overseas allow mistakes and don't really start coaching players until 14/15 years. Stop comparing football to other popular sports in America

Worst part about this shitshow is that the US coach will get to keep his job
I think he should, the team is horrible. US team is really bad, they have grit and athleticism, that's about it. Reminds me of Jamaican national team. The coach is actually getting the best out of a horrible team.

Right now a suitable goal for US Soccer is to make the qtrs in the next WC in 2026.

7/10 times the most physical team wins though, which is incredibly important in cup football.

What you said makes complete sense in a league format where there are 30+ games before a winner is decided and you face many distinct challenges. In a cup situation though the dominant force will always be physicality. Look at the Euros for example. Kante is the only reason France is still in. Nico Williams for spain, Musiala for Germany, Leao for Portugal. These are dominant forces. Hell even in a loss yesterday Doku looked most likely to do anything.

With 2026 right around the corner, there’s no time for anymore foolishness. The federations only job this week is to sack that mistake of a re-hire in Gregg Berhalter and find a suitable replacement. These players and this country, deserve a better manager. One who can exploit their talents and win games.

I’ve always stated that once Jose Mourinho gets ahold of a national team, it’s a wrap. He’ll win some World Cup’s and tournaments as he’s the cup specialist. Not so great with 30+ game seasons these days, but 7 game tournaments?

He’s lights out.

Shame he went to Fenerbache. If i’m US Soccer this morning, and he were remotely available, I’d throw the bank at him.

His tenure will be short just like Klinsmann. He's going to want to revamp the entire system just like klinsmann.

The US soccer federation is the problem. They want to keep the $$$ rolling in. As long as it's pay to play, they will remain with the status quo.

If Jose comes to America and is allowed to do what he does best, ALOT of executive level jobs will be eliminated. ALOT of mediocre players will not play at the youth levels. ALOT of youth coaches will be fired.

It's too many ppl tied into $$$ to stop the gravy train from rolling.

You’re not wrong, sadly.

Pay to play is the biggest obstacle standing in the way of this countries success and US Soccer knows it.

They just don’t care.
