A man who died with Covid after refusing to be vaccinated made a "terrible mistake" which put his family at risk, his partner has said.
Leslie Lawrenson, 58, died at his home in Bournemouth, Dorset, on 2 July.
His partner Amanda Mitchell, 56, who was seriously ill with Covid at the same time, said he thought the vaccines were too "experimental".
She told the Stephen Nolan programme on BBC Radio 5 live: "I feel incredibly foolish. Les died unnecessarily."
Ms Mitchell said her partner, a Cambridge University graduate, decided against having a coronavirus jab after reading material on social media.
She said: "It was a daily thing that he said to us: 'You don't need to have it, you'll be fine, just be careful.'
"He said to me: 'It's a gene thing, an experimental thing. You're putting something in your body that hasn't been thoroughly tested.'
"Les was highly educated... so if he told me something, I tended to believe it."

They gave him the aggressive treatment. They gave him a TON OF STEROIDS and other antibiotics that is usually reserved for when you get really BAD
They gave it to him because he's the president and pretty much everything is on the table he needed to be alive at that time.
Even with all of that treatment it still nearly fucked him up and he was out of breath for a few weeks still after he was stable enough to leave the hospital
even secretly carried around a breathing mask to use because he was fucked up
I just hope Moderna is improving the formula because at the end of year the virus is going to reach cockroach status.

I know a guy that sat at home, didn't go out & got covid. His wife was out partying with her daughter & other family members. They all caught it. They took it to him & he died. One of the others died as well.

After losing her 28-year-old son to COVID-19, an Alabama mother said she regrets that her family didn't get the vaccine.
Christy Carpenter told The Washington Post that her family didn't get vaccinated because they had concerns about how soon it was rolled out.
"It took years to create other vaccines, and the coronavirus vaccine was created very quickly," she said. "It took watching my son die and me suffering the effects of COVID for us to realize we need the vaccine."
"We did not get vaccinated when we had the opportunity and regret that so much now," she added.
Her son, Curt Carpenter, was hospitalized after getting COVID-19 in March. He was placed on a ventilator after developing pneumonia. He died on May 2. His mother was also hospitalized with COVID-19, but was able to recover.
Carpenter told The Post that her son was healthy prior to catching the virus, and that he initially believed the pandemic to be a "hoax." She said his last words were, "This is not a hoax, this is real."
Many people have expressed regret over not getting vaccinated after being hospitalized with COVID-19 or watching a loved one struggle with or die from the disease. Meanwhile, authorities are trying to counteract vaccine hesitancy and encourage people to get the shot.
Alabama has the lowest vaccination rate of any US state, with about 34% of its population fully vaccinated, data compiled by the Mayo Clinic showed. As of Sunday, nearly 50% of the entire US population, or 163 million people, was fully vaccinated, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said.
Alabama is also among a group of states seeing a spike in COVID-19 cases as the more transmissible Delta variant rapidly spreads.
US health officials have said it's now a "pandemic of the unvaccinated," announcing last month that nearly all deaths from COVID-19 in the US were now among the unvaccinated.
More than 610,000 Americans have died of COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic.

Basically. A lot of people don't realize that one of the main reasons that the average person doesn't get aggressive treatments like that (besides the obvious reason of cost) is that they usually require full time monitoring. You need someone there to keep an eye on the patient, make adjustments as needed, change treatments on the spot, etc. Having a full hospital pretty much at your beck and call will let you pull through almost anything.

Six members of a church in Florida, all of whom were unvaccinated, died of Covid-19 in less than two weeks, a pastor said.
The Rev. George Davis of the Impact Church in Jacksonville mourned the victims Sunday in a church service livestream.
"We've had now six members of our church over the course of a couple weeks now that have passed away from Covid," Davis said. "It has just absolutely ripped our hearts apart."
None of the victims were vaccinated, and four were healthy and under the age of 35, Davis said.
The pastor told NBC affiliate WFLA of Tampa that the members' deaths have "definitely taken a toll" on the community and urged the public to get vaccinated.
The church hosted a Covid-19 vaccination clinic on Sunday — its second event since March when 800 people got their first dose, according to WFLA.

The second vaccination event came just days after Florida broke its record for new daily Covid cases. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the state reported 23,903 new Covid cases on Friday — the third time that week that Florida surpassed its record of new daily Covid cases.
Covid hospitalizations in the state also increased at record-breaking levels for six consecutive days last week, according to data from the Department of Health and Human Services.
About 49.6 percent of Florida's population has been fully vaccinated, according to NBC's vaccination tracker. That puts Florida slightly behind other large states like California (53.5 percent), New York (57.8 percent) and Pennsylvania (53.1 percent), but ahead of Illinois (49.1 percent) and Texas (44.5 percent).

It's unfortunate that all those people and their families had to "learn" the hard way......
This is not just a more severe cold. This is a worldwide epidemic and a population changing plague......
it is indiscriminate with who it kills, who it injures long-term or who it let's survive in a couple weeks.
So why not increase your chances of living and surviving. No none of the vaccines are not perfect.....but they beat the potential alternatives.
