My kids grew up with a pool in the backyard. I was young and (along with a professional that opened and closed the pool) took care of it. It was also a way of always knowing here my kids were, especially in the summer. I kept the fridge full of hot dogs, hamburgers, etc. No problem there were always kids at my house. We were, literally where the party at. Then, one time we had my daughter's 16th bday party and I noticed that my friends who helped me to chaperone the party were slobbering all over my daughters friends. And, they started bugging me about having more parties for "the kids". Scenes like this were not uncommon. I closed the pool when she got to 21 and was away at college. My friends have never forgiven me.
