If I had to guess, it would be a combination of strength and conditioning and getting the schemes down. He came into camp late skinny and throwing up in the drills. Those workouts he was filmed doing on his own pales in comparison to designed strength and conditioning programming done with teammates at altitude.

Man I’m my numbers are correct dude came to campus two weeks before fall camp…

So let’s say that’s like nearly 6/7 weeks
Dude likely just starting to understand what college is about.
He’s probably understanding what Coach Prime means when he say “dawgs”.

I don't think that is the case with McClain. Coach Prime stated that a player had to put in work in conditioning and understanding their assignments to earn a number. McClain did that because he earned a number.

Coach Prime also stated that to earn a number like #1, you had to be a "dawg". He stated that he does not give anyone that number. But McClain has number 1.

Just being logical. How can a player learn his assignments, meet all the conditioning and workout requirements and get the label "Dawg" in order to receive the jersey #1 but can't get on the field? That just does not make sense and not adding up.

Its one thing to root for the success of Colorado because of Deion and his sons which I am also but its another to become a delusional fanatic in which I see going on in here with some of yall

End of the day its all fake anyway. Can't front like i didn't watch the first 2 games I was busy Sat fuckin so i had to catch the extended highlights of the 3rd game in the morning. Difference is I'm in here being logical and a fan is short for fanatic it's no logic when it comes to fans but yall not real Colorado Buffalo fans so stop with the bullshit. We could be happy to see white ppl mad while we root for Prime and Shedeur but :cmonson: some of yall comments are just baffling :hithead::hithead:
What is disappointing to me is that we have had other successful black coaches that our people flat out ignored. We have a current black head coach doing his thing at Penn State. I hope as a people we do better taking notice of our own

I could not agree with you more. I am HBCU Sports to the core so that's all you see among the SWAC, SIAC, CIAA, and MEAC, but we should do a better job of supporting our own coaches in Power 5 schools.

I know we talking college, but that's a gripe I have in the NFL. Yes, we need more black head football coaches, but why don't we celebrate the executives and black GM;s in the league? From Brad Holmes in Detroit to Ran for the Titans. They are the ones who hire and fire coaches...It's more ways to make an impact than being a coach or player....

That white guy who called into the Tariq show probably luv seeing this… them doubters also… “Well if Deion son was so great, why he’s #2 and not #1….

Same folks was telling us he’d be mediocre his year at best.

Some ranking had him listed the 7th best qb in the Pac…(granted there’s still games to be played)

Because of the gravity of Prime, The Miami Hurricanes have flat out been ignored even though we are really good this year. TVD is having a Heisman type year. We play the same time as Colorado this Saturday and we will get ignored again.

Granted, my information sources are all YouTube, but these are my thoughts:

1.) Most of the players were working their asses off for weeks before Cormani got on campus. Their workouts were looking real strenuous and players visibly got bigger every few weeks in the video. Especially Jimmy and Travis.

2.) Cormani was overrated from jump. In his High School Highlights, he just looked taller than everybody on the field. His interceptions were either poorly thrown balls or he beat the WR on a jump ball. His 7v7 footage did not look impressed and he looked lazy and loaded around in the High School Camp practices. He did not look aggressive, quick, or to have special instincts. He also looked super skinny. He just looked tall and has good hands.

I contrast this with Travis who looked unbelievably athletic in the 7v7 videos and the Deestroying videos. Honestly, those videos are some of the most impressive displays of athleticism I’ve seen. He also seemed very competitive.

When I saw the videos of Miami U staff singing Happy Birthday to Cormani and everyone saying how great he was, I assumed I was wrong and was missing something. The more footage I saw of Colorado’s WRs, I predicted that Cormani would have alot of trouble. He just doesn’t seem quick or physical when compared to their WRs or DBs. I certainly hope I’m wrong about all of this.

It hurt to lose him at Miami but it ended up being the best thing to happen because we picked up Davis and he had been a monster. Dude a playmaking machine.

Sadly I think her is going to FSU in the Portal.

Yep many spot on remarks

I’ll say this, outside of not know what’s going on up there, From the plays I do see if him, seem like he just needs to be consistent. One day I seen him letting the wr footwork get him… only to see him make an excellent read and undercut a pass for an interception.

Against CSU, for punt return I noticed he was late running on the field. I don’t know if it was his fault or not….

Now one thing you did say, that can’t be disputed is his height.
Let just say it starts to click for him after another month…

You do realize though that the fuss is because one of these black coaches is a 2 sport famous athlete entertainer celebrity?

This is the majority of what is going on with all the hype and interest.

It weird as a people that we can only support one person. If we want more black coaches, we have to do our part In supporting them. It cringe worthy when I see all on social media and Facebook saying Prime is the only Black head coach making a difference.

You got a Brotha with an entire black family over at Pennie’s State handling business but not a peep of support.

I fuck with Prime hard but I am also not a fanatic posting crazy shit. I am like man chill and less get through these next few tough games before we celebrate

I just cringe when our people don’t know about other black coaches at big time programs. We got to do better

Another thing it could likely be is scheme. Niko Reed is a really good corner but transferred from Colorado to Oregon because the scheme suited his talents better. Cormani might be better in a scheme where he he can use his size at the line of scrimmage better.

True but will his size matter without having the strength or understanding how to use the weight he have?

Also, it’s kinda fucked up that folks are ready to write dude off.

Seem like it shouldn’t be a knock that he Coach Say he ain’t ready. The kid wanted to be coached by the best and he’s getting it.
