I wonder if this was in Coach Prime's extension to retire Shedeur's jersey. Hopefully Kordell's jersey is soon.

I feel that Kordell Stewart should have his jersey retired before Shedeur. That's just me. Like if they got to the national championship or something, that's one thing, but jerseys aren't usually retired right after they are done playing.

With Everything that Mike Vick had done for VT, they didn't retire his number right after he left. I think he was in the league a few years. After the dog fighting, there were alumni that wanted to take it down but Coach beamer wasn't having it.

This is not discounting what Shedeur did at all. Whoever gets him will be getting a hell of a football player that knows who he is and can lead a team.

Your 1000000% correct

No one with common sense can disagree about Kordell

My feeling is that isn't DEION fault. And the current players shouldn't be punished for that. They did an amazing damn near historical thing at Colorado on and off the field that helped transform modern collegiate sports.

Deion don't care about what never happened BEFORE. Make it happen NOW.

If we did that for everything? never would be black players in sports period.

They the first retired numbers. Good now it's not an anomaly anymore.

They should be honored and recognized

Colorado is at fault for not having the respect for their own players and legacy for not honoring the championship team and those other worthy alums sooner and at all.

Just add 2 more worthy players or a team and now it's a tradition for every year.

i went a different direction with my think

The AD probably received so much push back when he alert the brass about talking to Deion.

I think he did it to for two reason

One he’s retiring soon and this something he wanted to see and be part of

To rub it in the face of the ones who gave him push back(I’m sure many still doing it today. Think about it, Deion still don’t have top tier NIL money)

I see your point. Quite honestly, I would be fine with them putting up a statue for Coach at this point. He's done more for that community in the years he's been there than anyone in that AD ever. If Coach prime said he's leaving tomorrow, he's already done enough. Just with his presence alone, he's going to get them into the Big 10 when they start conference realignment again.

Shedeur’s stats were padded. Much of Prime’s motivation was making his sons look good for the NFL. Colorado had the best WR corps in the NCAA, Shedeur threw damn near every down, and he routinely took sacks rather than threw the ball away. Prime and Shedeur blamed the Oline whenever Shedeur played poorly. All of this was to the detriment of the team and one of the reasons they underperformed. I’m convinced the timing of the jersey retirement was to help Shedeur’s draft status. I’m willing to bet anyone that Colorado will run the ball more next year now that Shedeur in not the priority.

Yea hell the AD might be sticking it to everyone around the world who question the idea, not just his local brass.

You can tell the tightend room has improved

You asked what QB had 2 better years, the rest of that response is fan based and emotional. I didn't mention Kordell who had 2 better years and in 1994 went 5-1 vs top 25 and 2-1 vs top 10 teams and Number 3 in the nation. Shedeur isn't even the best number 2 in program history. This was just Deion flexing his muscle (no Different than Trump renaming the Gulf of Mexico etc) and taking advantage of a Beta AD. White people do it all the time, that doesn't mean that we have to pretend that this was earned.

But we have absolutely no proof Deion is behind this. Alpha beta or sigma.

Unless you have some proof please share.

Until proven otherwise its all on the AD.

And I do think those players earned the recognition. Like I said numerous times. Just like other players deserve recognition too.

This isn't about earned. It's about Colorado not doing what they are supposed to do.

I was just surprised at them saying Deion should redshirt Juju, highly ranked recruits don't get redshirt that much anymore. I mean if Deion thought he needed to be I would be like fine. Times are different now, players will hit that transfer portal with the quickness if they ain't getting playing time. With all that being said there's still a lot of time to improve til the season starts for both QB's.

It's not earned, i'm a college football fan so I can't pretend to not know the history (of the school or the sport). There is no program in the history of CFB that has retired the number of a QB that has won nothing. 13-12 doesn't get anybody's number retired...Travis won the Heisman and retiring his number this fast is somewhat unheard of (but deserved). This isn't a participation award...I realize that most of the current CU fans aren't really fans of the sport, they just love the attention Deion brings.

Man I remember during one of the early arrival videos

Deion was walking thru the facility and notice one of Westbrook awards wasn’t there…

That shit had him dumbfounded….

So I highly doubted it was Deion’s doing when I first heard about it.

Not saying he can’t change his mind

Correct with that being said

Dude technically would be going thru his junior year of spring football in highschool

So not being ready is understandable
