Deion Sanders offered the Colorado job- Official Colorado season thread

I saw 180+ black kids immediately become millionaires (avg 7th rd contract 4 yrs 4.3 million dollars) so there is no way in hell I am going to feel sorry for a kid who reportedly bombed all his interviews, received bad advice from his advisors (not throwing or participating in post season events), had his dad tell teams outright that he would never let his kids play for them (including the team that drafted his kid) etc. At some point we have to stop coddling these young MEN and they need to play the game like adults. Deion brags to this day about how he disrespected the draft process when he was drafted (generational talents and connected white boys can do that) and you better believe he was pushing that same bullshit to his kids. You see Shilo signed with Rosenhaus and immediately got a chance with Tampa. Thankfully, Shedeur landed in an ideal situation because he could/should eventually beat out the other QB's in the Browns organization and that second contract will be the one that brings him the elite money.
Even though you are a hating MF I agree with everything you said except for one thing, an implication really: Drew Rosenhaus did not "get" Shilo signed. Had nothing to do with it. Agents cannot and do not influence teams to do shit. The gift that Rosenhaus and his peers have is to convince players that all the teams want to sign with them. No small gift, but is exactly the opposite of common perception.

Top agents make their money off the top picks (1st rounders) and the rest are pretty much loss leaders for them. The value of Shilo to Rosenhaus is that it keeps his street cred strong, and that is a huge factor getting the players he wants going forward.

If you don't believe shit else I'm saying, trust me that the agent commission on Shilo's contract is less that I would make representing a BGOLer on a DUI. I shit you not.

First off, fuck your opinion of me (I don't know you and have never had any problems with you so this is in jest)...if you think Rosenhaus doesn't have high level connections with every GM and owner over his 35+ years in the league then you are misinformed. Rosenhaus has been the primary agent for the Miami Hurricanes players so I am well aware of the entire process... some of us have family that has coached and played high levels across multiple sports...my bad kneed ass, unfortunately, was not one of them...

LOL I just think you are too harsh on Deion for being, well Deion in this context. But what I mean about the agents is their " connections" , whatever they are worth, do not extend to teams changing their assessment of a player's worth because the agent says so. No. Fucking. Way. When this thread gets boring enough and we both have the time, we can talk about the full on frenzy to sign UFAs as soon as the draft ends. That shit is crazy. Anyway, there was no way Shilo was not getting signed, agent or not.. But it is excellent for Rosehaus' brand for people to think so.

I get it...I live in Atlanta and Deion is royalty here. I am from South Florida and Deion is a demi-god down there. I used to read about him in the early 80's in the Palm Beach Post (my dad made us read 2 sections of the paper at breakfast... I picked Sports and the comics lol) where Deion was all everything in baseball, football, basketball and track. I already know what to expect when you don't just bow down to his athletic greatness for his supporters. My thoughts on him as a coach, well, it is what it is lol...I'm always down for substantive conversations from people who may know something I don't...

I’m say this I’m glad I was fortunate to go see dude play twice this year.

One of the trip, I was 2 secs away from maybe getting a pic from him or Trav

That’s not true, a good agent works the phones and contact teams about a player they think it worth extending an offer to camp. Plus as an agent you probably make more on the smaller contracts because those add up.

Nope. None of that is true. Teams give less of a fuck about the agent's opinion of a player than you do about mine. And agent compensation is set in stone by the collective bargaining agreement. Presumptive 3 percent, max 5 percent but I might be off on the precise numbers at the moment. And, the agent gets his cut as the player gets paid, twice a month just like us. And the best players ALWAYS negotiate an agent cut of more like 1 or 2 percent because that is the one person with whom they have leverage. This shit is more savage than you think.

@20:00

I actually like these guys but this was the whitest cac take on a very cruel "prank"

as always if a BLACK young man had done the SAME exact thing?

They would have tried to file CRIMINAL charges

These 2 REALLY trying to act like it was "fun"? Is why real journalism is dead. Because these so called white liberals are sometimes worse than these MAGA types because they truly believe they are allies

They aint.
