I don't usually watch ESPN but I would have figured this would have dominated the headlines, it has not.

OK.... As much as I wanted to see Prime stay at Jackson, seeing that moment with Deion and his son seeing the CU locker room brings it all together for me. That moment kind of got me.

I think he is doing this maybe more for his kids. Of course he wants it too, but giving all of his kids this national exposure, whether it's playing football, bball for his daughter, videographer and clothes sales for Deion Jr., he wanted to make sure his kids had a chance to shine along with him.

I wish them all the success in the world!

Damn!! I just skimmed through his video. I didn't hear al that. Prime was laying down the damn law!!!!!

Hope they film at CU like they did at Jackson State.
He got the same videographer and he actually shouted him out in the same video so yeah, it’s gone be the same.

What he does at Colorado, I could give less than a fuck about.

Go Dawgs
He actually was an assistant coach at USC before he went state.
Go look at his resume and see how many players he put in the NFL
And then come holla back. He old school and that nigga dont want to be at a big time school. Everyone knows that. Lol He ain’t about the limelight. Name me one coach at any HBCU that has put this many players in the league? ZERO

Pough has coached a number of players who have gone on to play in the National Football League, including nine who are currently on NFL rosters – Joe Thomas (Dallas Cowboys), Raphael Bush (Buffalo Bills),Javon Hargrave (Pittsburgh Steelers), Temarrick Hemingway (L.A. Rams), Javarius Leamon (Cincinnati Bengals), Antonio Hamilton (Oakland Raiders), Jalen Simmons (New York Giants), Darius Leonard (Indianapolis Colts) and Justin Evans (Baltimore Ravens).

Dude I went to a MEAC school lol. You're not telling me anything I dont already know...and that doesn't change anything I said. SCSU is BROKE or they would've gotten rid of him already.

Twitter is still split the down the middle.

I said it once. Deion can't undo the damage that 50 years of integration have done.

Secondly, the FCS playoffs have to be a goal for HBCUs.

No more Black College National Championships.

You folks keep saying this, but can you please tell us what HBCU's benefit from playing in the playoffs?? Firstly, IF you manage to get a home game you have to "bid" to host the game. Second, HBCU fans aren't giving a fuck about going to play in North Dakota. Third, JSU is probably the most premier HBCU out there athletically and it still took Deion giving half his salary to the school to make shit work. Celebration Bowl is on ABC, prime time and the winner gets a million dollar check. Why do you think all the FCS teams that can, ditch the playoffs for conferences like the Sunbelt or CUSA? FCS playoffs is a money loser that gets hardly any recognition. For example, Saturday, not a single FCS playoff game made it onto cable...only ESPN+. The SWAC Championship was on ESPN2.

The MEAC, SIAC, CIAA and Tenn State have opted for the playoffs for the longest and it hasn't benefit them a bit. NCA&T took their success in the Celebration Bowl and turned it into having their biggest student body ever and a national championship in track. FCS playoffs need to figure out how to actually make them profitable and then teams wouldn't keep ditching it for bowl games that pay money instead.

Man I'm always rooting for Prime, been a fan since he was at FSU. Then when he was about to be drafted, he said if Detroit draft me they gonna have to pay me so much money that they will have to put me on layaway..

The benefit is that HBCUs can start laying the groundwork to move out of the FCS, into the FBS, and get funds to improve facilities, seriously compete for recruits, retain those recruits and start hanging with and beating powerhouse teams and finally sending young men to the NFL.

This is obviously not going to happen overnight but be honest if he had done this at Ole Miss, he wouldn't be leaving after two years.

I watched First Take this morning, just curious as to what they would say and I don't know why I sat and tortured myself for 2 hours with Stephen A. Smith's screaming, fast-talking, over-talking, running out of breath and combine that with Michael Irvin's mumble mouth ass.

It's going to be interesting to see how his non-traditional style plays with a Power 5 school w/ a bunch of uptight cacs.

I can see a lot of the White kids transferring to other schools looking for an old White man to coach them.

Prime was coming off super defensive in that first meeting w/ the kids. Like he expects a lot of flack from them and wanted to let them know upfront who the boss is.

Like I said, this will be interesting...
JMO I don't think he will have any problems with the kids, they see him as cool.
The parents may be problem, but probably not.
Deion is like a well trained preacher, he will do fine in all situation, when it comes to dealing with people.

You dont need the playoffs for that though... there have been plenty of FCS schools that aren't top programs that have moved up. Georgia State comes to mind. The problem with going FBS is again, money. They will have to add scholarships and sports to be able to satisfy Title X that most wont be able to afford. That's the whole thing... nothing of this is happening without bread, playoffs or not. Also, the SWAC and MEAC haven't exactly had issues sending players to the league. Programs like North Dakota State, Montana, etc are basically state flagship universities that just aren't big enough or in the right location to get picked up by FBS conferences. They do not have to worry about 10 other FBS and FCS schools in their area to have to recruit against. Realistically, budget wise a lot of HBCU's should be focusing more on D2 than FBS. Skegee is D2 and when they do play one of the SWAC teams, the games usually are close. Hell they would beat up on Alabama State regularly. Same with WSSU before they lost their coach.
