I was in CT, just across the state line and the meeting room shook. We all looked at each other; thought it was a big truck or something.
Yes, you are right but you have to pay attention to the sequence sometimeIt's normal. There was a 4.2 earthquake in Buffalo/Western New York last year just a day after the 7.8 one in Turkey and Syria.
Earthquakes happen every day around the world. Just a matter of time they hit a town near you.
This happens all the time we’ll get the official statement from the USGS
And only say this statement because New York is not built for earthquakes that’s above 6.5.This is very interesting because the Taiwan earthquake was a few days ago yesterday Japan has 6.2 so yeah things are getting very interesting and let me tell you guys something in New York……. Get a 6.5 that whole city would be in a huge pile of rubble.
Be safe, fam.
My sister and her kid freaked out. They live in BK.
You said it again chicken little.. once again I’m gonna land on your property like my name was the mayflower if it doesAnd only say this statement because New York is not built for earthquakes that’s above 6.5.
Precautions.. dosent mean it’s gonna happen.. they want to make it seem like they doing something since they were like an hr late with informing people after the initial earthquake
I remember the 2011 earthquake in the DC area and your first description is spot on. I was at work and the building started shaking as if a truck was driving past. Then the floor started swaying and there was no doubt what it was. The swaying of an entire building beneath my feet was one of the weirdest feelings I've ever experienced.I hear you on that. I’ve experienced two in years past.
First time at work it sounded like one of the big 18-wheelers going by out front. But for 10 - 20 seconds instead of two to three.
Second time at home it felt like the house was quietly pulling side to side for awhile. I started to move under the desk. Checked Reddit afterward and confirmed it. Went to work later and asked coworker 20 mins away. They felt nothing there. Surprising.
