DNA evidence clears black man of crime, Missouri still going ahead with execution

No president can withhold all federal funding from a state. Congress might be able to since they control the money, but that would probably be a hard ask even if the numbers leaned in favor of it.
Speaking about it would be nice, but would have absolutely no effect, cause the Governor of Missouri is a republican conservative trump supporter. He'd make going against their wishes campaign material if he were to run again.

So if we're only talking about them speaking out against the execution... ok, I get it, but let's just be clear that the pres had no power to force a state to not execute a state convict, and a democratic pres would have very little ability to influence a republican governor of a conservative state. Same way president trump trying to get Newsom to stop the Cali Moratorium and start killing death row inmates would be laughed at.

Then why did the County Prosecutor argue that the conviction needed to be overturned and at the very least he deserved a stay of execution until more details/ evidence is reviewed?

The prosecutors office at the time did some dirt and suppressed evidence that may have freed Williams, the DNA evidence was compromised BY THE PROSECUTORS OFFICE and last but not least..... the victim's family didn't want him KILLED!

I'm not saying he was "innocent." But he didnt deserve to DIE. there was significant reasonable doubt

Because its politically convenient now to do so. That DNA evidence had the state's hands on it because they handled it. Also the victim's family didnt make the punishment, nor should they.

The case is to be made beyond a resonable doubt, they did that with this guy.

Marcellus spent his life, up until that point, victimizing people like us, did the ultimate crime to a white person, and finally got his justice. The innocence project can spare me this dog and pony show they drag out every time a case comes up, and have people get in their feelings by the state putting trash in the dumpster. Im tired of us being victimized by trash like Marcellus,

The person with the most power in this situation then, and now, was Marcellus. Nobody told him to live a life victimizing people. This clown was already doing a multi-decade bid for shoving a gun and hitting a woman working a service industry job that could have easily been the mother or sister of any of us. One of the only good things that Mike Parsons has done for black people in Missouri was him making sure not a single black tax payer had to spend another dime on the care of this clown.
