quick poll. but a lot of dudes have opinions on tarp. some say the country would've collapsed financially once the public did a run on the banks, domino effect, bank failures nationwide, etc., and that u needed to save wall street to save main street.

others say it was just a govt handout that hand nothing to do with the common man, since the money of the common man doesn't sustain the banks anyway (dollar for dollar, etc)

TARP saves Wall St. Investment Banks and AIG.

Investment Banks have next to nothing to do with the common man. If they would have went other, other investment banks from around the world would have picked away at the remains.


AIG/AIU was the real concern since they insure everything from Doctors (malpractice) to Planes. The economy would have ground to a half because many businesses cannot operate without insurance or with an insurer who is insolvent.


TARP was essentially one giant wealth transfer from the taxpayer to the ultra rich to help them clean up their mess.
