When the planes struck the towers?


I was a freshman in HS. First period. Computer Science class. I was listening to music on headphones when I noticed people getting up and walking over to the TV.

I remember thinking that an idiot pilot had made a mistake. It wasn’t until the second plane hit that things became a bit more clear.

Nothing was the same after that…Pre 9/11 was the last golden period of American history. The last period in which people really felt “free”, if that makes any sense

At work in Atlanta and we were watching on the computer the news of the planes flying into NY. I thought it was special effects bullshit..until it hit the buildings.. I was like WTF and everyone was screaming snd hollering at my job...then we started to worry because Hartsfield airport was like 2 miles away so we were concerned some BS was going to happen in ATL also...that was a crazy day

Just woke up to watch the towers fall. Worked 2nd shift at the time.

I was in the library in college.......on the computer in one of the chatrooms (BlackPlanet)....
and someone in the chat said a plane hit the world trade center.......i was like mf you lyin.
Tried to go to msnbc.com, yahoo.com, abcnews.com etc....and all those websites were down. i was like wtf.
Then they said a 2nd plane hit the other tower. Wasnt too long after that, the pagers started going off on those
college students that were in the reserves and national guard. And they all got up and started running out of the library.
I went to the student union, and they had it on all the tvs in there.....and everybody was in complete shock.
By the time the other plane hit the Pentagon....we all knew we were under attack.

Just walked into my part time job at the Phillips arena/ CNN building. i was walking in and saw a bunch of people around 1 of the tvs. i asked them what happened and they said a plane flew into the twin towers. i didn't think much of it because i thought it was a small plane. When i got down to the basement to unload the truck they said another plane hit it. then i saw how bad it was. they sent everyone home about 30 minutes later. I went and picked up this chick i was smashing from my other job because they closed too. went to best buy and picked up that Jay-z Blueprint before they closed. Got some food, brought shorty back to my place, And had a day of Pussy on my couch while watching the news.

I was at an interview for a job over in Marietta,when the interview was over I drove back home and stopped at a deli to get a sandwich to take home for lunch. They had a tv on and I was standing there watching the news and the guy that was making my sandwich said can u believe this shit and I was like this is crazy and just as I said that the 1st tower collapsed and the owner of the deli was like fuck it we shutting down today and going home.

Just got of work was watching the today show. they cut to footage after 1st plane hit and they was talking about how how some dude parachuted on to Statue of Liberty a few weeks ago and then the second plane came thru from there it just feels like I watched the news for 24-36 hrs straight. Seeing all those people running and covered in ash after the towers fell is still burned into my mind.

My apartment on Biscayne in North Miami. Moms called and asked if I was watching TV. I asked "what channel"? She said any channel. Flipped on the TV and was in shock.

I told my girlfriend I had to see this in person. I rented a Yukon and was in NYC on 9/13. We snuck into the area through China Town. Dust was still in the air and buildings smoldering. Saw Don King walking down the street. We looked at the memorials near Wall Street. There were cars in the parking lot covered with debris.

I show the video to my kids every blue moon.

We saw the hole in the Pentagon driving back from I-95.

I was the Dekalb County road inspector at the time. I was inspecting Avon Ave in Tucker when it came over the radio. A white woman was jogging by and asked if I knew what was going on. We sat together for an hour listening to the broadcasts.

I was at work, planning my relocation from Chicago to Jersey.
I remember my coworker saying you check this out a plane just hit one of the twins toweres.

Was in the late room in highschool when they announced that school was letting out early and that as soon as the bell rings transportation would be there or you can use the phones to schedule for you to be picked up.

I called my house then my father, mother and I was out the door driving home listening to the radio and when I got home I turned it on to Dan Rocofe however you spell his name I believe is his name on CBS and watched the shit over and over as he became choked up trying to talk about what had just happened.

Off the coast of VA on the USS Monterey assuming the watch when I got the call set Force Protection Condition Delta and what was our load out yelled for my Chief he thought I was joking till he got on the line and told me to go get the CO ASAP. Next thing I knew we were setting the sea and anchor detail heading to Annapolis Harbor for air defense. When they had set Delta the second tower had been hit we heard about the Pentagon a bout a half hour later. When we found out the towers had fell everyone one in shock. About 10 that night I final got to watch TV and see watch had took place and sad to say the first image I saw was people jumping out the tower to their death.

I woke up rolled over to the computer
Saw a post that said Plane hit WTC or some shit like that
It hadn't even hit the news yet.
This was one of those times that reinforced for me just how much reach BGOL had.
I flipped on the TV just in Time for CNN to say Breaking News
and Show the Building on fire. Sat there and watched the second plane
hit the other tower while they were commenting about the first tower.
Then the whole world went on lockdown

I was at work when I heard about it and thought it was a accident then someone said a second plane had hit and I knew something was really wrong

I was a freshmen in high school back then, saw it on the news first day being in school, there was a big announcement telling us we would have to go home early and to be safe, my mom picked me up because she was afraid of something happening to me and they let her off early from work early and the traffic was crazy. I remembered her telling me the president is gonna get them and that's when a WAR has begun. Wild times.

Here in Chicago sitting at work on the 46th floor of the Sears Tower. I worked 3rd shift on a commodity and financial trading desk. Our parent company was in a building across the street from the Towers. Once the second plane hit in NY, they evacuated our building as a precaution because no one knew what was going on. As we were leaving, the day shift manager runs in and wants us to stay to make sure our big customers don't have huge positions on. We were like "Man if you don't get yo goofass outta our face!"

Sitting in a math class my junior year. We'd get the news in school through a program called channel 1 so a TV was in every classroom. Remember our teacher getting a phone call from his wife directly into the classroom phone. He turned on the TV just in time to see the 2nd plane hit.

The staff took care of us and gave us tons of shit to eat and drink. Was in a certain facility with over 40 tvs where we watched coverage from every news station. Got paid extra for the obvious inconvenience. I’m just skimming through a lot of shit. Of all the days to leave my vidcam home I chose that one

At work in DC, after the second plane hit, pentagon was hit.

Went to the office rooftop overlooking 14th street and we could see the smoke coming from the pentagon.

I was in school at John Jay... It was THE scariest shiti have ever experienced. Nobody knew what the fuck was going on... everyone was trying to escape the city. It felt like the end of days type shit. When I finally made it home my father grabbed me and hugged me like never before. It was the first time I had ever seen him cry. THAT shook me more than 9/11

Watched the 2nd plane hit, then saw the buildings collapse and ppl running for their lives. That was a weird time. Never forget.
