Do You Remember What You Were Doing On 9/11?

I was in San Diego with the missus in a Mission Valley hotel on the last day of a 2-week vacation -- scheduled to fly back to ATL 1 PM PST. Needless to say -- all flights were cancelled. Me & the missus got in several extra days of 2nd honeymooning. 9/11 elicits mixed emotions from me -- sadness for the people who died but joy for the fond memories of the extra days of non-stop screwing like the world might end any day due to WW III.

At work alone in DC in a cubicle beside a server room...got the call from somebody saying why you still at work when they just hit World Trade Center, Pentagon and the senate (rest of the office had seemingly left me)...was all sorts of rumors...joined thousands walking all the way up Georgia Ave because metro was down

I was in college at the time. Lived off-campus and was staying with some family. You know college hours ... they can vary. Mostly had class between 2 - 10pm that term. So getting home late ... sleeping in, etc. Family was on the phone that morning and I overheard her saying "I don't know what the hell is happening ..." and checked in afterward. Then just quietly sat there having a late breakfast and watching the news coverage in disbelief.

Went to classes that afternoon ... it was eery. Felt like everything was moving in slow motion. Cars driving slower. Bus was full, but quiet. No one talking. Got to campus and a number of people were standing around in the concourse watching the news on TV.

Went to class and the prof' said "Do you mind if we talk about this?" and had an open discussion in class for the first 45 - 60 minutes, then into the course work.
