No surprise he did this on a day the stock market is up, every time there is a up day he does it because he cant force the fed to cut rates if the stock market is up.

If I remember correctly be been announced this.
He said it, it would’ve been the 1st but that’s April foolish… people would’ve not took it serious
(Unless he was speaking about tariffs increase on another nation)

The Venezuelan government responds to Trump's announcement:

❗️Venezuela's course is clear; nothing and no one will stop us.

➡️The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela firmly and categorically rejects the new aggression announced by the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, who intends to impose a 25% secondary tariff on any country that trades with Venezuela in oil and gas. This arbitrary, illegal, and desperate measure, far from affecting our resolve, confirms the resounding failure of all the sanctions imposed against our country.”

And folks wonder why the Brics have gain traction so quickly over the pass 5 years

“TRUMP STATED THAT HE HAS DECIDED TO IMPOSE 25% TARRIFS ON ALL COUNTRIES THAT BUY OIL AND GAS FROM VENEZUELA FROM APRIL 2

Trump: Any country that buys oil and/or gas from Venezuela will be forced to pay the US a 25% tariff on any trade with our country.”

European companies and government agencies are considering abandoning cloud services from Amazon, Google and Microsoft, writes Wired magazine.

The EU fears that American technology could be used against European interests.

Against this backdrop, the region is already looking for alternatives. And some EU companies say they are already receiving clients who have rejected American technology – sometimes simply because they disagree with the US administration.

Some have been very outspoken – especially Danish customers who have said outright that they want to move away from US providers because of the US administration's comments on Greenland”

The U.S. is not prepared to win an economic war against China-built containerships, farmers, ocean carriers warn

The U.S. is considering steep fines on containerships made in China as a way to help revive domestic shipbuilding. From global ocean carriers to U.S. farmers, business interests are warning that the economic consequences will be devastating. The World Shipping Council estimates that the rules being considered by the U.S. Trade Representative would soon cover 98% of all liner vessels calling on U.S. ports.

China is turning up pressure on Walmart. That could mean higher prices for US customers

Walmart thought it could use its immense power as America’s biggest retailer to make Chinese suppliers eat the cost of President Donald Trump’s tariffs. But Walmart got a response it’s not accustomed to hearing: No.

If Chinese-built containership fines take effect, 'we're out of business in U.S.,' ocean carrier says

Atlantic Container Line, an ocean carrier which handles large industrial items including the wings for Airbus planes, says it will be forced to abandon the U.S. market if the government follows through on threats to fine Chinese-built shipping vessels. Its CEO Andrew Abbott tells CNBC that freight rates will head back to Covid surge levels and there will be no economic rationale to continue to operate as a niche freight company within the U.S. "This hits American exporters and importers worse than anybody else," says Abbott. "If this happens ... we're going to have to shut down."

Trump says he ‘couldn’t care less’ if auto prices rise because of tariffs

Asked by NBC News’ Kristen Welker in a phone interview about whether he pressured automakers to avoid raising prices after his 25% tariffs on imported cars and parts go into effect, Trump denied that he told CEOs to control costs. “No, I never said that,” Trump told Welker. “I couldn’t care less if they raise prices, because people are going to start buying American cars.”

In sum, the United States Empire is over, it's no longer a uni-polar world and the warmongers of the US can't accept that so Trump is throwing a tantrum.

The United States still maintains over 700 overseas military bases how is the American Empire over? lol
Random military bases don't make you all powerful, though. The British Empire had colonies all over the world and they claimed the sun never slept on the British Empire; now the United States is going the same way, the US used to rely on soft power and now they have rely on pure force. That's another sign of the waning influence of the United States & that's why we have the rise of BRICS: the global south is aligning & those BRICS make up the majority of the population in the world. The US is done.
