No surprise he did this on a day the stock market is up, every time there is a up day he does it because he cant force the fed to cut rates if the stock market is up.
If I remember correctly be been announced this.

Atlantic Container Line, an ocean carrier which handles large industrial items including the wings for Airbus planes, says it will be forced to abandon the U.S. market if the government follows through on threats to fine Chinese-built shipping vessels. Its CEO Andrew Abbott tells CNBC that freight rates will head back to Covid surge levels and there will be no economic rationale to continue to operate as a niche freight company within the U.S. "This hits American exporters and importers worse than anybody else," says Abbott. "If this happens ... we're going to have to shut down."

It's called "overreach," dying empires always try to expand before they die.
Random military bases don't make you all powerful, though. The British Empire had colonies all over the world and they claimed the sun never slept on the British Empire; now the United States is going the same way, the US used to rely on soft power and now they have rely on pure force. That's another sign of the waning influence of the United States & that's why we have the rise of BRICS: the global south is aligning & those BRICS make up the majority of the population in the world. The US is done.
