You are not alone I rewinded it so many times you'd think it was the Kennedy assassination tape.

I just thought there's an extended version somewhere. If that's all he did then . Cut the check!!!! Jay didn't even do the chorus, son really just breathed on the mic and is about to get spins. BRILLIANT!!!

lol Jay Z got em.

This song will go anyway

Kanye actually got Drake on this one

How you know? Jay ain't been putting out nothing cause he ain't got no one to attach himself too that would make him hot..

How you know this ain't a throw away track that aye found with Drake on it? Then told Jay add a verse?

It's obvious Drake don't need Ye nor Jay.. Nigga got 2 tracks charting right now, that joint with Ri Ri and that Controlla with popcaan..

Jayz ain't get shit lmaoo

Honestly I am getting so tired of that

We do not need 10 different versions of the same damn song which will most likely consist of internet rappers and less than 16 bars.

Then we look back and realize Jay 2 bars were better.

But some rappers do justice to a hot beat that others do not. I don't think Drake or Ye did justice to this track.

I understand but something that was cool novelty has become boring...

when 50, the Clipse Wayne etc did it? It was BETTER and clever and classic and usually benefited the ORIGINAL artist giving the song longevity

because unfortunately...most of these so called freestyle remixes are just 2 minute filler...

yes on occasion you get a GEM but that is rare.

This is fine we can discuss and argue like we USED to it..

let this NEW BOYS try to DO BETTER

on their OWN track...

Drake’s latest release “Pop Style” was met with a lukewarm response. His single “Summer Sixteen” opened at #6 on the Hot 100 then quickly fell out of the Top 20. His last two full bodies of work (If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, What A Time To Be Alive) were considered by many observers to be underwhelming. So has Drizzy reached his musical peak?

That’s a question Joe Budden asked during the latest episode of his podcast. The self-professed longtime Drake fan spent most of the show questioning if the OVO leader hit his highest point as a music artist with 2011’s Take Care.

“Have we seen Drake peak? I think that question has been floating around the universe for a little while,” stated Joe.

He later added, “Drake came and dominated as a breath of fresh air, something so different. He was like a hybrid emcee… A lot of people would say Take Care is his best album. This is where the whispers started.”

Budden then spoke about how Drake’s next album, Nothing Was The Same, was viewed by some as not having a lasting impact. The Slaughterhouse member also reminded his listeners he was not a big supporter of IYRTITL, WATTBA,or what he calls “Trapper Drake.”

The conversation turned to the fact that The Weeknd played a major role in the creation of Take Care. An argument could be made that after the fellow Canadian parted ways with the OVO Camp, Drake’s projects have not been as critically celebrated as his second LP.

“If I go in deep, I start with the mumblings of a Weeknd/Drake beef. I’m going that far back. Because I’m putting the peak – if I’m taking that side of the argument – I’m putting the peak atTake Care,” said Budden. “All I know that happened after that is that The Weeknd left, and I know that The Weeknd has done rather f-cking well since leaving.”

In addition, Budden gave Drake credit for starting his own sub-genre of Hip Hop. However, he took issue with his favorite rapper riding the wave of other artists rather than setting the trends of the culture like he believes Drizzy did at one point.

Joe's question was / is valid. His podcast was actually pretty good without a lot of his usual fuckery. Joe pretty much blamed Weeknd's departure from OvO as the beginning of his "fall from grace." With "Views"...we shall see

This album will still do well, but I think Drake should of dropped a new album right after he dropped Back to Back while everybody was hyped by the battle. If he threw 3 peat on there, he might of went platinum the first week.

Back to Back dropped July 2015...then the joint tape with Future dropped that September...that was in the pipeline for a minute, so are you saying he should have scrapped that and rushed out his own tape, or that the tape WATTBA should have been reshaped to ride the "beef" wave?

In this current trap climate, a Future and Drake album will sell regardless. They dropped that with no promo and it did well. Drake is dropping mediocre singles right now that are having fans question if he is on the downside of his peak. With the amount of corporations that were jumping into to the beef on their social media, Drake was getting free marketing to potential casual fans. He was literally the number 1 trending topic on all social media for over a week straight. You can't pay for that kinda of promo.

I don't disagree with you, but I'm asking when should he have dropped an album with all of that going on?

For reference Drake dropped both Hotline Bling and B2B on July 31st on iTunes.... So there was a ~7 week window between the 2 singles and WATTBA

I would of dropped it right after OVO fest. Then drop the album with Future around October. But that's in hindsight. Most people never knew he was working on an album with Future at the time.
