Same.I've been using tweetdeck for years. It's convenient for seeing columns for created lists instead of having to go back n forth inside a single window. This new direction is ridiculous
Will be interesting to see what the alternative in Threads presents. From what I hear you can log in with your IG profile and will have seamless integration for posts.Same.
I dodged the API bullet a month or so ago. Now without Tweetdeck I wont be able to monitor everything. By the looks of things, all managed accounts will need to be subscribed too. Just waiting for them to kill the API next.
Time to explore Facebook's API.
Bluesky need to hurry up
Nighas complaining about Twitter amd still tweeting.....lol
sarcasm man.You are missing the point. Twitter will be digg/tumblr/facebook as soon as a viable alternative emerges. It would be like somebody somehow having the ability to acquire exclusive control of sms/email protocol and still somehow fucking it up. We are talking about a Trump bankrupting a casino level of malfeasance here. Twitter was that important for news/journalism and this dumb ass cac has fucked it up. You realize how bad of a CEO you have to be for the best case scenario to be that you are destroying your product intentionally and not through sheer incompetence/ignorance?
We will know soon if this is 2023 G+ or an actually viable alternative.
Quitting Twitter? Here Are Six Alternatives, From Threads to Bluesky and Spill
Elon Musk’s controversial leadership of Twitter has left some users in search of an alternative, and social media apps like Threads are stepping in.variety.com
We will know soon if this is 2023 G+ or an actually viable alternative.
So is it good?
This app sounds like a miserable place tbh
The fact that it'll piggy back off IG & Facebook will be very interesting to see how it gets adopted by users.
BGOL won't like it regardless-- no nudity.
HN is actually having a good discussion on this at the moment

I just think he realized he overpaid for it by $20 billion. Platforms come and go. Just look at my space and AOL chat rooms; something new will come along. Hell, look at tik-tok and the laws being put in place to suppress them. From Delta Airlines to States and the federal governments, banning the usage.Really good informative conversation being had there. I agree with the guy who posted this:
Musk is trying to run Twitter into the ground to suppress liberal discourse and left-wing journalism in the US to further destabilize the US on behalf of Saudi Arabia. The end result will poorer access to information and less capabilities to disseminate information and organize among US citizens.
If that isn't his main goal, then he must be a bigger idiot than I thought. His actions are observationally identical to that objective. Making a company profitable is not the same as running it into the ground, and his moves toward profitability have been so obviously set up to backfire that he'd have to be wildly incompetent on every level if he thought they were going to work. An answer with more malice is simply much more believable at this point.

That's what I think his entire plan was. To run Twitter into the ground as a safe space for left wing voices and make it home to right wing trolls. He wanted to turn Twitter into Gab/Truth Social and now everyone wants to leave. Everyone saw this day coming.
It's really a shame Mastodon wasn't ready for prime time
There was an ad for that movie every 10 tweets in my TL
I did for sureJust block the tweets.
